Were you up in the wee hours of the morning this past weekend, waiting in line for your chance to pick up Tatsunoko vs. Capcom a bit early at the Nintendo World store in New York City? Yeah, neither were we, but Nintendo World Report was there and they asked producer Ryota Niitsuma a whole mess of questions about the game.
Notably, when Niitsuma was asked what other franchises he might like to work with in future "vs." titles, the producer openly stated his desire to work with not just "a whole lot of" game developers in the US, but also that he'd "love to" work with Nintendo or Square Enix. As for us, we'd love the chance to shoryuken the hell out of Cloud Strife. But hey, who wouldn't?

Psh, all Cloud has going for him is the big arse sword and a buncha' angst.
And supposedly he gets cred for fighting with Sephiroth.
...and Sephiroth is a wannabe villain.
Not saying he wasn't good. He's just not as "badass" as he thinks he is.
It's as if an otaku watched the Matrix and decided to add their own character into a fanfiction.
Akuma>Sephiroth

We could get some great Roster's in a
Capcom vs SquareEnix
or
Capcom vs Nintendo
But in all honesty I want nothing more than a Capcom vs Capcom game.
Capcom has a lot of character's and could easily make a game using nothing but their own character's from other games.
You could have
Resident Evil
Devil May Cry
Onimusha
Viewtiful Joe
Bionic Commando
Okami
Dino Crisis
Dead Rising
Strider
Final Fight
Street Fighter
Darkstalkers
Rival Schools
Powerstone
Lost Planet
Dark Void (?)
MegaMan
Breath of Fire
God Hand
Plus I know there's a lot i'm missing.
That would make for one hell of a fighting game.

Capcom has to be my favorite third-party publisher. They have a pretty good ratio of quality-to-crap, and a wide array of interesting franchises. So, a cross-Capcom fighting game would truly be amazing on it's own.
But cross-company crossovers are always more interesting. What I've always wanted to see would be a "Nintendo vs. Capcom" that had two play-styles: a Capcom-esque fighting mode, and a Smash Bros.-esque mode.

@Jawmuncher (PSN & XBL:Jawmuncher) - I concur. Capcom Fighting Jam/Evolution was a good start for something like this, but ideally more in the traditional Vs. style- and with MANY more characters. In particular, Firebrand from Gargoyles Quest, a character from Monster Hunter and Vanessa from P.N. 03.

They could perfectly put a capcom character in brawl, but I heard Nintendo didn't because of how capcom released RE4, wich was suposedly exclusive, in other consoles.
I'd like to see a multi-company fighting game, maybe with Namco, Capcom, Nintendo and some others (the 3 I named are my favourites).

I would pay so many dollars to play a game where I could pit Dante or Wesker against Gene from Godhand.

in RE: Ninty V Capcom
-------------------------------------
Stranger things have happened.
After all, the arcade cabinet of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is running Nintendo-made hardware. Last time we saw such a thing, SEGA made an F-Zero.
Plus, as we've seen in recent years, Nintendo is seeming now to to see the appeal (and profitability!) of cross-company cross-overs. SEGA makes games with Mario in them, and Nintendo (by means of Sora, I should point out, I guess-) made a game with a Konami character in it.
I do think it's unlikely. But not impossible by any means- and a console exclusive game that's likely to a sell large number of copies would be good for everyone involved.

@BPMOmega [XBL, PSN, Steam] - You're absolutely right! I plumb forgot about those. They even had Pac-Man characters in them... which furthers my point, perhaps. :)

Nintendo has never really been averse to third-party crossovers, more like just really really particular about it. They let Namco use Link for Soul Calibur II, let Square develop an entire Mario game, and of course are currently letting Tecmo develop Metroid. And of course there are those rumors about Samus and Link originally being slated for Marvel Ultimate Alliance...

Eh, the Mario Kart Arcade GP games are okay, but not something I'd buy for a home release. Unless they bundled both games into one disc, and added some meat to the game (they're pretty bare bones compared to ANY of the home releases).

Sega vs Capcom or Nintendo vs Capcom makes the most sense to do next, if you ask me. Although Square would be cool, too.
Really, what would be AWESOME to see happen is if by some miracle Capcom got Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, Sega, Konami, Square, Atlus, Nippon Ichi, Namco, Epic, Tecmo, SNK, Ubisoft, SNK and others and made one gargantuan cross over game.

Tatsunoko has a great history of anime... unfortunately, most of their stuff didn't quite hit it big outside of Japan. The only things of Tatsunoko's I'd say have a measurable imprint in America are Speed Racer (obviously), Gatchaman (three different dubs: Battle of the Planets, G-Force, and Eagle Riders), and possibly Samurai Pizza Cats (which more falls under cult status, is my guess).
Heck, maybe even Superbook and Flying House have better recognition outside of Japan than anything else in TvC (they were made in conjunction with the Christian Broadcasting Network... who knew?).

If Capcom did a Capcom Vs. Jump Superstars with just the cast already featured in the Jump Superstars DS series, I'd be pretty happy. Heck, even turn the 2 and 3 koma characters into MvC1 style support characters.
(.. obviously Ganbarion wouldn't be involved in this project, so the whole koma system would be irrelevent, but incase there were rights issues in clearing some of the various characters individually, whatever hoosp Ganbarion jumped though could provide some shortcuts.)
Though, I do think that Tatsunoko is already a pretty hot set of characters, and I'd be totally ok with another iteration of TvC. ;)

NO! NOT Clamp!
We already got over adding angsty characters into fighting games, there's no need to add HUNDREDS of characters that are sexually insecure.

Wesker vs Liquid would be the greatest battler ever.
If they did make that then the last boss would have to be some kind of Metal Gear since in the Versus Capcom games that last fight is always against some big enemy
