"Full of brown", yet the screenshots above and below the article are all different colors.

Metro 2033 has much more in relation to STALKER than Red Faction or Darksiders, and all 3 games were made by different people and published by THQ.

This news post is making my brain hurt.

The article isn't comparing the story/gameplay/etc to Red Faction or Darksiders. It's comparing the QUALITY. C'mon man, I can't hold everyone's hand here.

But how does the quality come from THQ as their unifying trait and not the 3 completely different developers?

Wouldn't the quality comparison go with STALKER?

So Germany isn't in Europe any more?

Looking forward to giving this a go though. As you say, might turn out to be another little gem.

What he's saying is that the game will release in the US and Germany on March 16th and then the rest of Europe will get it March 19th.

How was that not clear?

I think the atmosphere is what's going to make this game

This game looks fantastic. The fact that it's releasing so soon after it was initially announced (last September?) worries me a little bit, but that may just be due to conditioning by the games industry into believing all great games must be delayed and only shitty need-cash titles are released within 6 months of their announcement.

Regardless, THQ has been on a roll lately with:

Red Faction
Saints Row 2
Darksiders
de Blob

I have no reason to think Metro 2033 won't be another quality THQ game.

If it helps quell your fears, I heard of this game a couple of years ago. I think it was in a game informer, and was mostly concept art. It seems that the developer/publisher just--gasp--waited until it was ready before starting the hype.

Yo guys, I downloaded STALKER: Call of Pripyat (I'll buy it when it releases here in a few months) and man it is f-ing amazing.

Really good stuff, and made up for the disappointing Clear Sky. Metro 2033 looks quite good as well, but it's going to be tough to compete with Call of Pripyat, I was really surprised.

The latest Red Faction was terrible when you consider its name. It honestly should have just been called "Run Vehicles Into Things Until They Fall Down" and nothing would have changed.

Saints Row 2 was good though, although it has a lot of bugs on the PC (but it's still more exciting and fun than GTA IV).

RF was a good game, flawled (repetitive) but great
I hope it gets the Assassin's Creed treatment with a sequel, Red Faction: Earth Invation perhaps? ^.^

I really dig games with creepy/moody atmosphere like S.T.A.L.K.E.R and obviously this game.

It'll come down whether I'll go with a PC or 360 version ... if the PC has advanced graphical tech then I'll go with a PC version.

Bring it to the PS3 and you've got yourself a sale.

Before you jump on me for posting a "wah, why isn't this on my console?!" post, the game was announced as a PS3 game from the start :(
