In its continued quest to unearth some of PC gaming's finest relics, GOG.com has announced a new deal with Activision Publishing Inc. -- in the context of purveying point-and-click classics, that means Sierra games! The first two games to be added to GOG's DRM-free lineup are role-playing favorite Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura; and Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, the first outing of Jane Jensen's caustic-witted writer and detective. Both titles are priced at $5.99.
More classic titles from Activision's vault are expected to be added over the coming weeks. With Gabriel Knight star Tim Curry leading the charge, anything can happen.

What an awesome game that was/is.
I was quite young when I first played through it so my dad had to get me the official guide to help me through it. There was no GameFAQs back then. ;)

Picking Gabriel Knight as the first release has to be symbolic. It's probably the best written Sierra adventure game of all time. They're even including the talkie-CD version with Tim Curry.
This brings back so many memories of playing this game Sundays in my Dad's office on one of those new fangled CD-Roms.

I wouldn't mind Telltale being allowed to make a new Gabriel Knight series.

I recently dug out the first Gabriel Knight game and finished it. That game is so good. I wish they would reboot that series.

I thought Arcanum and Gabriel Knight were Sierra games? When did Activision get them?

Go buy Arcanum, seriously. It's one of the most awesome PC RPGs ever made if you can look past a few things. It's a shame that Troika ended up flaming out so badly, there was definitely talent there.
Also, I believe there are some fan patches released in the last couple of years even that fixed many of the bugs that never got addressed by official patches.

Sergio: Would never be possible, Telltale are ex-Lucasart's guys. Jane Jenson is still around and her new game comes out in like a month I think called Grey Matter. Gabriel Knight 2 is still my favourite though.

GOG goes from strength to strength and show how modern PC games are shallow and redundant due to this multiformat market of ours, where everything is dumbed down to the lowest denominator!
