Except that really isn't what I suspect he's after. The OS doesn't have handwriting recognition support, and isn't built for stylus support. All he'd be doing is keeping fingerprints off of the screen.

Yeah, I didn't think so. This would have been an incredibly awesome tool for drawing outside, had there been any kind of proper pen support, with pressure levels, tilt levels and buttons and all that (Oh god, buttons! Can't have that!). That stylus looks more like a crayon. I guess the Cintiq costs as much as it does for a reason...

I love stupid pc fanboys and netbook fanboys I didn't think a crappy device like a netbook could have fanboys. Accept the reality and don't post here as if you don't have an iPhone and problably will get an iPad too just like that 360 and PS3 you have. So please this is a thread for iPhone and iPad development if your are not interested then go to PC_netbookfanboy.com and post there, while playing spore and scrolling like crazy on IE on you netbook.

I don't know why everyone has such a hate-on for the iPad. If it doesn't fit your lifestyle, simply don't buy it. I don't like netbooks. They do nothing well. Tiny everything causes me to crumple my fingers to use it and type on the keyboard. I have a PC for PC games and development... I'm entitled to like the iPad for a much more casual net surfing/media device.

It sounds like iPad games would be better then iPhone games. More gamery.

I am optimistic about the acceptance being there for these devs to work with it as a platform. The price point is pretty much right. And the camera and the other stuff techies are clamoring for will come with the inevitable revision in a year or so.

You can say that iPhone and iPad aren't "true" gaming devices or whatever, but your words are nothing.

Money talks.

Games make a lot of money on iPhone, and most likely will on iPad.

Nuff said.

Doesn't mean they are good games.

iPhone and iPad ARE NOT true gaming devices.

Galactic "boss": You can type in as many capitals as you want but you're not the end-all judge of anything involving this device. There are already hundreds of kick-ass games that will run on this thing. It's playing games whether you notice or not.
Step.

I'm seriously so excited to start developing for the iPad. I have a feeling its going to contain abilities that we've never seen for gaming. This may even be the next step in gaming to come out. Should be interesting to see!

For those who are still naysayers, here are just a few titles for the platform:
*Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
*Street Fighter IV
*Final Fantasy I & II
*Madden NFL 10
*Sims 3
*Rock Band
*Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles
*Assassin's Creed II: Discovery
*Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
*Resident Evil 4
*Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies
*Command & Conquer: Red Alert
*Mass Effect Galaxy
*Metal Gear Solid Touch

Amazing original series titles:
*Fieldrunners
*Tap Tap Revenge 1, 2, & 3
*Rolando 1 & 2
*Gangstar: West Coast Hustle
*Hero of Sparta

Still don't realize the iPhone OS is a legit gaming platform? What are you stupid or something? Hardcore gamers just REAALLLY REAAAAALLLY don't want to admit that someone outside of Nintendo and Sony has a legit portable gaming platform on their hands. Is this fanboyism or just stupidity?

Get with it. Apple's customers are gaming, and all of the major video game developers are developing. Like it or not.

you can deny it, but iPhone/iPod Touch ecosystem already contain tons of game, not only mini game but big title like Madden and GTA, and many people are playing, essentially make iPad legitimate qualify as "gaming device"
