Gearbox Software and 2K Games have revealed the name -- and first solid details -- for the third DLC expansion to Borderlands. Called The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, the new content is pitched as having "never-before-seen enemies in a huge new environment complete with tons of brand new missions."
New weapons and items are also promised, along with a previously confirmed raising of the character level cap from 50 to ... an undisclosed limit. Still, Gearbox states there will be "new challenges and opportunities for growth for characters from around level 34 to level 50." No release timetable has been announced, but we've contacted 2K for additional info. First screens in the gallery below!

Thats probably a glitch or you made a mistake. The online on Borderlands is very hackable (Guns that deal 9999999 damage ect.)

Hey i have got the Secret Armory of General Knoxx and i just cant seem to play playthrough 2 on it. It is so hard to defeat any enemies because my health and shield are very low for a level 50 but the problem is that all the shields i recieve are never enough to kill the Lance Troopers. I keep losing millions of money and i cannot seem to kill any enemies no matter what the power. Any help anyone? I could really use the help.

See, that's what it's all about right there. Supporting your single product. This is a good thing, Activision! But don't do another thing Activision did, Gearbox: Repetitive DLC (WaW). But I don't see this happening anytime soon.

I dunno, Borderland's DLC has really felt like it should be in the game to begin with.

Well the Zombie Island one was too short for my tastes. I beat it in about 1-2 hours I think, and even then it didn't seem like it had enough that was really worthwhile. I mean, I would like to have seen more quests in the town where the experiments were performed (Old Haven was it?), and maybe some more variety in the island itself.
I haven't bought the second DLC yet though.

I like the game and am all for more DLC but sometimes this game feels like a real chore when it comes to grinding to level up. To much running around without really knowing where to exactly go. I wish they'd add in more specifics for some of the missions because they end up being too vague at times on where to go or where to redeem them

You could read your journal to find out who to turn quests in to. Look at the current quest indicator (compass) on the bottom of the map for the direction of your current quest or the map. It's diamond shaped.

Been awhile since I last tried it, but didn't every mission have a giant arrow pointing you EXACTLY to where you had to go?

I'm aware of the journal, but it's little help when they tell you to return to someone you only met once hours ago without them mentioning where they are and in the end have no coice but to follow arrows until you come upon it or they tell you to go to a subsection of a particular map, but not the general area the place is even in.
It didn't help that all the supporting characters are forgettable either, otherwise it may be easier to recall - this after 2 1/2 playthroughs

Christ, are Gearbox going for a record? This is the most (significant) DLC pumped out in the shortest timeframe I can remember. If only the game itself weren't so boring...

Know what would be really mean? If you got the DLC and played all the way through it just to find out that you never get to go in the secret armory of General Knoxx. Yeah, that would be cruel. I don't think Gearbox would ever do such a stupid thing though.

This makes me VERY happy. Hopefully they'll open up a 3rd play through while they are at it. Its awesome to see a great product being so well supported.

Love Borderlands... capped out at 50 right now, played throught Dr. Ned's Zombie Island, which was great fun, and can't wait for this particular DLC. Nice photos Joystiq - I noticed the new vehicle, which is long overdue; and that huge mech looks like good times. Can't wait for another reason to revisit the Borderlands... have not downloaded the other DLC, though... not really into the arena fighting aspect... is it worth it for the bank to store your items? not sure bout that one...

Not for the bank, but for the Fights.
Borderlands is an easy moder***ing game, everyting is so easy.. every boss, every quest...
But then you go to Mad Moxxi and have your ass kicked so many times it actually feels good to have a really difficult challenge in this game.
Borderlands is very, VERY good, but it misses something like difficulty and more advanced AI, and Moxxy resolves that with a really nice challenge, i'd say go for it.

The way Borderlands has been treated on PC is awfully disappointing. It put SecuROM on my PC when they patched it to make it ready for Zombie Island of Dr Ned.
Gearbox also haven't fixed the many online connectivity/network play issues that plague the PC version also. It's essentially a poor console port.
The thing is, this expansion sounds great (far better than the previous two), but Borderlands is a game I can't bring myself to revisit due to the frustration of trying to get games started with my bros. That and I got near the end of Playthrough 2 and it just got kinda old hat.
The same issues stopped me from getting the other expansions.

yeah; we've got it working thanks to work arounds and fixes. But the point of the matter is, pc gamers shouldn't have to go through all that trouble.
I bought it on Steam too, and something that also annoys me is it's use of Gamespy instead of Steam as it's multiplayer service. It's painful.

Talk about a game that completely caught me by surprise. My friend got me Borderlands for X-Mas, and in turn just about every other friend in our circle wound up getting it from our word of mouth. I just capped at level 50 this week, tore through Zombie Island DLC, and am still trying to set aside some time for the big arenas.
All in all, I've been enjoying Borderlands immensely and can't wait for the new DLC. I'll happily support Gearbox's efforts on this one.

So I'm wondering what DLC package will contain the pack for the flawed PC port. Anytime now, Gearbox. If you'd actually help your game instead of attempting to make more money (lol, what) then I would actually be more inclined to get some of the DLC you chug out. I'm only assuming that some PC players see the same.
