Q Entertainment 'researching' PSN port of Rez HD

Very few games have been able to match the impact of the original Rez ... well, with the exception of Rez HD on Xbox Live Arcade; unsurprisingly, revamped visuals made for an even more psychedelic experience. Q Entertainment recently tweeted about a possible PSN port of the game, asking how much a PS3 version should cost. $15 seems to be the figure Q is working with, noting that "it would not be a huge profit" and "we're not big enough to do things for fun."

Q Entertainment hasn't committed to making the port yet, stating "this is no indication that it's happening, but we're researching if its feasible." Already, there have been some complaints from PlayStation loyalists who reject the notion of paying full price for a two year delayed port. We're confident that you, Joystiq reader, will be able to help Q figure out exactly what to do:

GOD PLEASE YES. It's the only downloadable game I miss from my 360.

I played this game for hours on end. It was an amazing game and I wouldn't mind shelling out 15 bucks for it since it's actually worth it IMO.

Not for $15. $10 would be fine though.

I've never played the low-res or the HD version (but would like to!), so I'd like a demo before I can commit $15. Right now, I'm looking closer to $10 also though.

Absolutely, one of the best games out there,
it's a slap in the face that it never came to the ps3.

The PS2 version of this game goes for 750 Goozex points (about $35) the cheapest low res copy you can buy right now is $18.95 on Amazon. This is a great game, I haven't seen the HD version, but the old version was just terrific.

The HD version is exactly the same except the controls seem more fluid and the graphics (and more importantly the sound) are much clearer. Also, chievos and if it comes to PSN, that means trophys.

Not to sound snooty here but price isn't an issue for me (not saying that I'm cash loaded, I'm just prepared to use my money for something I enjoy). I'm happy to spend money on a good game which I can replay. That assumes the port would be good though, which isn't always the case when it comes to this sort of thing.

Another concern that overrides price is bandwidth. There are a tonne of downloadable games I haven't played yet simply because their file size is too large for my monthly quota to comfortably handle.

So I answered yes in the poll but that doesn't mean I'd ever actually get it.

I would if I could, believe me. Internet pricing and plans in Australia are terrible. I'm constantly disappointed that I can't play some of my favourite titles because they'll be costing me a tenth (or more) of my monthly bandwidth.

I think stories like this one help to promote the idea of fronting a little "extra" money for a game. The true test would be to ask us all, after it has been released, who bought the game and who didn't.

$15 is too much.

I don't even have a PS3 and this is a resounding yes. More people need this amazing game pronto!

I said yes, even though I already have the Dreamcast version and the XBLA version. I can't get enough Rez. More importantly, all the PS3-only players would get to play Rez HD, and that's something everyone should be able to do.

But isn't it only $10 on xbla? Why make it more expensive on PSN?

Because you're paying real money, of course, and not a "byzantine and confusing" points system.

I am all for a port to PS3 for $15. Especially since my other option would be a PS2 copy which would run me more than twice that price.

While we're at it, where's the PS3 version of Every Extend Extra Extreme? I had a blast playing that on a friend's 360.

I always thought it was weird that they had the PSP version of that game and an XBLA version, but no PSN. I think it would do well there.

I started these petitions a while back to try & help gage interest for PS3/PSN & Wii [think about it!!!] ports. Sign 'em if you have a second plz!

A pretty overrated game Imo. I rented it back in the day on ps2 and loved it for the first 4 hours. But after getting to the end several times I got bored as there's nothing left to do. The novelty of your actions reflected in the audio quickly lost its luster too. I'd vote no if I could.
