The video also details the Dead Eye targeting system, which allows players to slow down gameplay and paint targets. It behaves similarly to the "mark and execute" system in Splinter Cell: Conviction, which lets players mark several targets and take them down in rapid succession. It all looks very nifty and, thanks to the same classy narrator from the first video, it still feels educational. Remember that when your significant other / mother / teacher chastises you for playing too much. You're not just shooting cowpokes, you're learning about the Wild West.

Yeah this is going to be amazing, hopefully you can run faster than in GTAIV.
Also it does look more detailed than GTAIV to me.
Also that deadeye feature is ripped straight out of Call of Juarez, not a bad thing though.

This game does, in fact, look pretty damn good! I haven't played Call of Juarez yet, because my friends gave it mixed reviews. I supposed I could rent it? Do you support that idea?

Rudy, I like to look at games as entertainment versus price of entry.
Seeing as how you could grab CoJ:BiB for pretty cheap now, it's totally worth it. A rental? Hell yes. It's got a fun, if cheesy and cliché Western story. Pretty graphics. Good controls. Nice voice work. I really enjoyed it.
The multiplayer is surprisingly decent, but probably a ghost town at this point.
I paid $30 for the game and didn't regret it. And I'd play through it again.

I am greatly looking forward to this game but the setting still seems a little off to me. I was thinking the time setting of The Good The Bad and The Ugly would have been an awesome setting for a game... This game still looks very promising.

The euphoria engine is the best thing to happen to games in a long time.
GTA4 is the one game that I have kept because euphoria makes it replay value so high. Just the other day I was surprised to a mans body fly so hard into a light post and knocking it on a women after hitting him so hard off his scooter with my car.
Why don't more developers use this engine? Assasin's Creed 2 was great, but now think of it with RAGE or a Euphoria engine. Ragdoll is out.

Oh yes I have and i'm loving it so far :). Why have you chosen your GOTY already? there are about 20 games this year that have a fair chance at that title.
Just enjoy them as they come :D pass judgement when you're done mmkay?

Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, Final Fantasy XIII, I'm sure some people could make an argument for Bad Company 2, and I have no idea what else comes out this year. I'm bad at paying attention. But I DO think it's a little early to be crowning ME2 GOTY. And I'm a ME fanboy.

That was meant mostly as a joke - but not completely! To be honest, even though I'm only about five hours into it and too early to REALLY judge... I'm pretty sure ME2 is the best video game I've ever played. And I'm old enough to have owned everything since the NES days, so there isn't that excuse to blame.
It's just.. it's incredible. It's gorgeous, the dynamic dialog system is just as good as the original, and they've fixed every single problem the first game had. It's just so polished and well built...
Bioware just doesn't mess around.
Well, at least their A-team doesn't! I'm looking at you Dragon Age.
There's a lot of great games coming out this year, but ME2 is of such a high quality that I don't see any of them hitting that high mark. But we will see!

I'd rather not think of ME2 while in the office (makes me want to run for it and get to my house) It has definetly raised the bar in RPGs and story telling in general. But you never know whats next!! Just thinking of all the gaming expiriences we will go through this year including natal makes me want to enjoy my gaming time, every second of it ^.^

Mass Effect has no chance at winning. Oblivion couldnt even beat Gears of War. GOTY winners are restricted to fall release games, people are too stupid to remember further than 3 months back.

What the heck!?! There was just a General Hospital ad after the video, Joystiq must be desperate!

As long as the checkpoint system is better than GTA4, I'm down with this game. Looks decent.

I think the Dead Eye system is more like the first Red Dead Revolver than from Splinter Cell's new game, but cool namedrop and everything, I guess. You should always hype another game in one game's post, that's the only way to be real journalists.
