Critter Crunch gets 'less insane' in new patch

Sure, Critter Crunch is cute. But it is also barf-inducingly hard. Thankfully, a new patch (releasing today) will help make the more challenging stages "less insane." In addition, the patch adds support for in-game XMB music, so you can play while listening to your extensive Miley Cyrus collection. The full patch notes are below:

Additions:

XMB Audio support
Language select available for all!
Hey losers! You get a little XP even if you lose in multiplayer

Tweaks:

Player feedback regarding DIFFICULT LEVELS has been taken to heart. Tough levels got a little less insane!
Coop networking tweaks to decrease pesky lag
Multiplayer "Disconnects" are now awarded more accurately
Catching a jewel while feeding glorious vomit to your son will no longer interrupt you
Your rank will now be retrieved more reliably when playing Adventure

Nasty bug fixes:

No more annoying audio glitch
No more Wins/Losses upload issues when the server is in "'maintenance" mode
Player score for Challenge levels now correctly handled in ALL cases
"Barf Success" icon now shows up correctly in ALL cases
"King of the Jungle" Trophy now successfully unlocks correctly even with a score of 0

Wow, the game isn't that hard at all. Awarding some XP even for losses is a good idea though.

I like to read articles, which are really interesting and informative, and this is exactly about your article. In the past I didn't like to read that much and prefered http://www.pdfqueen.com download and read books from the Internet, but several times I came across worthy articles, and am not that categorical ever since :)

As much as I enjoy the music in the game, XMB music is a nice addition.

Also, the bug with the crystal interrupting the feeding was really annoying. Glad it's fixed.

Along with Noby Noby Boy this is one of the most entertaining games to play with friends of mine. Then again my friends....are exactly the kind of people who enjoy watching weird animals barf and whatever Noby Noby Boy really is. In-game music will be much appreciated.

Just bought this game on Wednesday for $3.50...I figured "what the hell?" for that price?

i 100% this game few days days ago before my system got the case of ylod. and i thought some parts were hard but keep at it and you will get it but oh well i did it when things were more challenging and i'm proud of myself for that !

I'm shocked this game got a patch, based on how much they complained about sales... makes me wish I had given them some feedback!!

I love the game, but I do wish I could have an endless mode where I disable things like Blockers, Vegetarians, etc... sometimes the game is just a tad too complicated.

would rly appreciate it, cos its so much fun until u get to like level 8 or 9 where its pretty much game over.

Unless your plane is plummeting to the earth and you only have 30 seconds to live, there is no reason to use "r", "rly", "cos", or "u".

If you only have 30seconds to live i can think of a much better use of it than commenting on a joystiq article...

I JUST finished suffering through the super hard levels and challenges that are more luck than skill a few days ago. xD Godammit. Oh well. At least I can say I beat the game and got all the trophies when it was too hard.

You're not the only one to have suffered... lol. I did the same thing. Either way, was a great experience with an awesome puzzle game... and a few swears along the way. XD

but what if I'm a bit of a masochist and want to play those very hard levels? if they were insanely hard then I really don't care...I just hope this isn't like in Bionic Commando that they changed the difficulty and made "normal" too easy and "hard" too hard; I always thought the unpatched "normal" in that game was the best way to play it.

this game wasnt that hard and only the last 2 levels were ones that really gave you trouble. sometimes you would start and it would be an auto loss because of certain things like blockers at the bottom, but other than that little gripe there wasnt anything wrong with the difficulty level.

I got this game on sale too (along with Braid and Zen Pinball) but I guess I haven't gotten to the insanely difficult part yet. In fact, I don't even think I've even had to replay a level/puzzle/challenge yet.

However, I do have to give props to them for adding the custom soundtrack option. It's a shame how few games allow you to do that.

Well now i'm gonna have to put MLB the show, MAG, and heavy rain on hold and complete this game.
