Heh, I forgot about Not-So-Epic-Mickey.

Still, a Mario-Zelda-Metroid trifecta in one year would be impressive...

That would be odd for Nintendo.. what are they releasing next year then? Maybe another Mario Kart... and a Strikers? What are they going to do when the "core" crowd gets impatient for a big Nintendo title... a new IP!?

2011... year of the Wii 2?

Too bad Nintendo isn't like Sony. If they were we'd probably already know every single detail about the Wii 2 and then some (all right before it gets pulled off the net and called "rumor and speculation).

True. I'm surprised we haven't heard more on the PS4 (apart from the rejection of Larrabee).

"a Mario-Zelda-Metroid trifecta in one year"

Combined with a new Pokemon, it would be my perfect year.

(Of course if they could get a new Star Fox or F-Zero out this year I would probably die.)

@Soul (who asked, what big titles Nintendo will have for 2011): Good question. Here's another good question: what are Retro working on? The answers could be related...

By the way, I doubt they'll do another Mario Kart for Wii. I know they've broken the 'one game per generation' rule for loads of things this time, but that particular one just doesn't seem likely to me - more likely there'd be an F-Zero instead? Only a hunch though.

Now I see their strategy! They intentionally made this past year suck balls so they could unleash this trifecta of awesome in 2010.

I'm not even going to let this get me psyched. I already know Reggie's going to delay it and it will not be coming out this year... Damn you Reggie... Damn you.

(For the record, I'll love the game when it comes out but Reggie has really come to disappoint with promising release dates and then holding said game back for another year, or two. Ex; Brawl, Twilight Princess, Pikmin Wii)

Nobody ever promised anything about Pikmin 3. Miyamoto was a bit disingenuous in 2008 saying that they were "making" the game, given that it only had a small concept team on it until summer 2009, but nobody promised any particular target.

I hope so! The Wii's holiday line-up kinda sucked last year. So I'm down for a new Zelda! Now that I think about it... I only picked up two Wii games last year. Hopefully that won't be the case in 2010!!

See, i'm not entirely buying this now. With all the information bonanza of today, we know that Other M is closer to release than Galaxy 2, with a set time of summer for Japan, and probably a similar time for the West (i'm betting August in US, maybe Sept in EU), and i find it dubious that not only will the cram the trifecta into a calendar year, but into the same half of that year

One of the three is going to be pushed out, and its mind-boggling if it's Galaxy 2 that gets pushed out, since it really seems like it's the one that's basically done

And according to Sakaguchi's blog, The Last Story is also mostly done :)

I get this really odd feeling that out of all the AAA exclusives being released this year, Nintendo may actually be the winner...

How is that possible? Is it because they've kept most of their projects low key?

Mario looks to be about done. Metroid is likely finished or close to finished at this point.

All we've seen of the new Zelda is the concept art. No in game footage, no screen shots. My gut tells me that even a late 2010 release is unlikely. Of course, Nintendo could release the aforementioned game play footage tomorrow showing how far along the game is in development, and I'd (happily) be wrong.

After Zelda Wii (finally!), Metroid and Mario Galaxy 2, what leaves us for 2011 ?
New console ? Wario Ware ? A new Mario game different from what we have?
Another "wii" title such as wii music 2 ?

2010 looks like the year for nintendo fans.

It won't be. I promise you. I can also promise you that it will be a solid, if not tired, game. Good fun, but not much new, I'm sure.

If I'm wrong, well, that's good news for everyone except the hardcore fans that have all that Zelda porn. If I'm right, at least you didn't have high hopes and can still enjoy a good game.

If anything is going to be groundbreaking, it'll probably be the next Zelda after this one. I can't imagine Nintendo doing anything revolutionary before it has to. They have surprised us in the past though...

massmass has a valid point. Nintendo has no motivation to do anything more than to keep up the status quo with a side order of enough flashy gimmicks to keep the fans happy. No one who hasn't bought any of the previous Zeldas is going to buy the next one. Not too many, at least.

All this stuff is great. Assuming Metroid/Mario/Zelda all come out when they're supposed to this year...
here's what 2011 will bring:

*Wii_____sequel
*A 'big' game with vitality sensor.
* Pikmin 3
* A new first party RPG
* 'new play control' luigi's mansion
-getting my hopes up- *Mario Party 9?
