The suit + Mikami's involvement makes me hope for more P.N.03 styleized action. Love that game!

Trailer was directed by the same crew behind MGS4's wicked opener, they're definitely going all out.

If it's a spiritual successor to PN03, sign me up too. I would retract my previous comment in a fraction of a second!

+ for some P.N.03 love!

But since the protagonist seems to be male, let's hope there's no, uh, booty shaking this time.

Holy crap, there are people here besides me who enjoyed P.N.03?

Sure brings back memories. That game was the first video game I ever bought for myself. I didn't even have a GameCube at the time (or any other gaming device outside of the original Game Boy I had since 1990). I rented a GameCube a few times to play the game before deciding to just buy the hardware.

Only much better. It looks gritty...which I like. The question is.....what will the actual gameplay look like?

Yeah, it doesn't look nearly as original as most of Mikami's/Platinum's/Clover's stuff.

The trailer screams ripoff.
It'll probably be a FPS.

Hm. Could be interesting. With the Platinum and Mikami names behind it, it will if nothing else be extremely badass. But... will it be fun? Or innovative?

Knowing absolutely nothing at this time but going by the track record of the people involved... I'm going to say "probably".

I'm tentatively excited.

On the one hand, it's a Mikami game. His games haven't disappointed me yet.
On the other hand, this has, "samfish doesn't like these kinda games" written all over it.

To be honest, I've been disappointed with Platinum, much as it pains me to say it. It feels like all their games have been blatant panders to their respective consoles' 'hardcore' markets. The creativity that was in their games when they were Clover is a lot less obvious in MadWorld and Bayonetta in favor of...stereotypes.

I didn't say the characters were stereotypes. I meant that the audiences they're seemingly making their games for are.

Also, God Hand was a parody, not a stereotype.

Also also, Platinum's games haven't come close to the games they made when they were Clover. The Clover games are in a totally different league, in my opinion.

God Hand-->Okami-->Viewtiful Joe------------>MadWorld---->Bayonetta

Have to agree with samfish here there games were more original when they were clover. But you could fault that because they are just starting out again as a new studio and want their games to sell, which is why their games seem less "creative" but I loved madworld and bayonetta and they weren't bad games at all.

Looks pretty awesome, plays on our feelings on 9/11 hah.

Actually looks nicer than the Starcraft 2 trailer for marines. Its beginning to seem SC2 was hyped too early, if Blizz don't release SC2 soon, the stuff might just age, Duke Nukem syndrome? And also Diablo 3 too ...

looks interesting but have to say it reminds me a lot of Shadow complex, the white armor and the white two legged Mec at the end of the trailer. looks interesting though.

on a side note i still want someone to make a game where you are NOT the super soldier. but work along side one i think that would kick ass.

WOW...guess i'm the only one who thinks this looks like a ShadowComplex sequel...the suit, the mech, the attack on america...idk, it just all seemed like a more expensive ShadowComplex...no one else sees it?

The art style is very much like shadow complex which rips it's own art style from MGS.
Platinum has my attention....but I will remain cautiously optimistic for when we see some gameplay. (There was a bit too much cheese involved in the trailer)

Also...why are people in the comments comparing this to iron man or halo? Every other game that get's released has some sort of dude in a mini mech/space marine suit. Why start the comparisons like 10 years after that type of character has already become a video game norm?

I hope they take Bayonetta as a learning experience. Selling on both systems is a great idea, but the panning that the PS3 version took in the media cost them sales. Bayonetta may be a critical darling, but it would harldy be the first time that something the critics love failed to get the same attention from the consumers. The simple fact that they (Sega) patched the game for the American audience speaks volumes, and I am hoping that Platinum will be handling both versions of this next effort in-house.

Platinum is really hot and I am looking forward to playing more of their games. I am not impressed with the trailer since it shows nothing about the actualy game, but I am interested in what Mikami is thinking for his next game. Looking forward to seeing some solid information about this one.
