We wouldn't blame you if you're hesitant to trust your cold, unfeeling game console with your credit card information -- when that thing inevitably goes sentient, you just know its just going to go on an overpriced accessory-shopping spree. Fortunately, there's other ways to obtain content on the Xbox Live Marketplace; for instance, a recently added GameStop listing has revealed that Borderlands' two DLC packs, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, will soon be bundled together in a retail package for the 360 and PC.
The bundle, which is set to drop February 23, will be priced at $19.99, which is how much the DLC would cost if purchased separately on the Marketplace. Only, now you're also paying sales tax, meaning you're buying an expansion pack and paying for a few pages of a public elementary school textbook. How nice of you!

I was unaware it had won a game of the year award.

I had my fun with Borderlands, but I'm done. It's starting to wear on me.

It's been considered Game of the Year by tons of people.
Definitely one of the top titles of 2009 I'd say.

yes a lot of people like it, but that really didn't answer my speculation to never seeing anything declare it to be game of the year.

I personally love GotY editions. I game on a budget so I'm usually 12 to 18 months behind new releases. Over the holidays I picked up Fallout 3: GotY for $40, with content that would have cost $110 new.
So call it something else if you don't win the award, but keep releasing them!

Pretty sure when I palyed the game with developers the developer I played with hinted the level cap will raise to 70, and that they have more DLC in the works then fallout 3 did. Only time will tell.

OMG, then its not DLC anymore, a rift in the time-space continuum!
Since many developers sadly never release DLC on the PC versions of multiplatform games (thinking PC gamers don't purchase DLC whereas console gamers lap it up), why not release them in retail as well?

The bad thing are the taxes. The good thing is you can use discounts and now let other people borrow your DLC.

You haveta pay sales tax on the PS3 version :x
My face when I got a $20 PSN card to get the $19.99 WipeOut HD
Then realized if I added $5 to the "wallet" to get the $24.99 bundle with Fury what also would happen, then finally realizing I need $30 to buy a $25 game.

If you're being taxed on the PSN, it just means your state sucks.

If you don't get sales tax upon purchase, you're actually supposed to declare it while filing your income taxes. So all internet purchases without sales tax eventually (are supposed to at least) get taxed.

I wish they included the newly announced DLC in this retail bundle too.
Zombie Island and Underdome Riot still don't seem worth it to me.
Too much of the same stuff. New new weapons/enemies.

this is just a voucher though right? I know gamestop is getting into selling DLC and I don't see anything showing that this will be on an actual disk

I was hoping Gearbox would do this, now I'll buy the DLC, this reminds me I have to pick up the Fallout 3 DLC on disk.
