Why would they discontinue THIS game? Why not a PETZ or Carnival Games game instead?

Because Nintendo aren't the publisher of Petz or Carnival Games.

They have discontinued Wii Music. Go to the product page for Wii Music on Amazon and scroll down to "Product Details." At the very bottom it says "Discontinued by manufacturer: Yes." Nintendo has recently stopped producing a number of first party Wii titles, including Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, Mario Strikers, Endless Ocean and Excitebots.

I remember they called it a special collector's edition. Guess they really meant it unlike some other releases.

So what's the consensus here, folks? Is this thing gonna be seen as a collector's item in a few years or not?

LOL...I'm sure 95% of the readers here had to Google that word. I should start doing a "Word of the Day" here on Joystiq.

You were researching me? Well you are right I dont usually post, just read. It was your insult that 95% of the joystiq readers would have to google your fancy word, yet you didn't know how to spell it. The irony of this would not let me read the next article without saying something. I thought I would have some fun with it, but all you could do is keep saying "douche". GO PLANET!

Please zip your pants back up. Your male-to-female SRS "part" could never be as good as the real thing. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

A.) It moves their left overstock and potentially Wiis.
B.) It builds anticipation for the next game.
C.) it's a no-dick move to TELL us they aren't making anymore.

Nintendo's frankness is appreciated in a world where LEs and CEs are BS shiny sleeve covers and worthless DLC held hostage as bargaining chips.

At the Gamestop near me, they have like 50 used copies of the game. I don't think there's a big demand for this.

Nintendo should try making Petz: Metroidz.

So after making 3 games and then re-releasing them all, Nintendo realized that the games aren't "official" (whatever the hell that means) and stopped producing them?

You could've just said you prefer 2d Metroid games (I'm guessing that's what this is about) and you would have avoided making an ass out of yourself.
