If a Genesis and a Wii had a baby, it would be Sega Zone

You're traveling through another dimension -- a dimension not only of sight and sound but of retro games. A journey into a wondrous console containing a bunch of old Genesis games and some generic motion-controlled games. That's the signpost up ahead. Your next stop: the Sega Zone.

Pocket Lint has images of a new licensed Sega console called the Sega Zone (or the Zone Sega, according to the box), out in the UK this summer, that contains 20 Genesis classics and 30 new games, 16 of which can be played with the device's two wireless motion controllers.

Essentially a Firecore Classic Console crossed with the "Zone 40," an existing knockoff Wii console, the Sega Zone also features a cartridge slot so you can play your copy of McDonalds' Treasure Land Adventure. It'll sell for £39.95 (about $60) in the UK.

I wish Nintendo did stuff like this.
Much like the system that was a buy.com exclusive that could play Genesis from sega that had games already built in as well.

Would like to see something like that from nintendo.
But they'd rather just use the virtual console....

I hear ya. SEGA can't re-release this game enough times. They just CAN'T!

15 classics + 30 new games = 45 but...the box says 50 games...this increases my intrigue.

It says on the box 20 Sega games, 14 Arcade Games, 16 Interactive sports games.

In the article (which is read before seeing the photos) it only mentions 15 classics and 30 new titles. The gallery later shows more than what is said in the article. An edit function would have allowed me to change my statement, but nonetheless, it was enough to ruin your day. *sigh*...

It means that 30 are new, 15 are classic, and 5 are really awful

Since I received my Dreamcast Magazine that didn't have a preview of the following month.

I saw something that looked exactly like this at CVS, but white and without the Sega games.

Does it come with Sonic?

I can only make out one Sonic game from the pic: Sonic & Knuckles...

First grid of pics, bottom row, fourth on the right.

And that looks like Sonic Spinball to the right of that one.

The emulation will probably suck, though. Even the latest Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection didn't emulate the Sonic games accurately.

DAMN I've got good eyes. Of course, I probably should've clicked the pick before straining me eyes to make out the pics. This link shows all the games close up.
