None of that matters, however, because what we do know is that what follows after the jump is probably our favorite trailer so far this year. It's actually -- and don't tell any advertisers or con-men this -- a little sad and scary just how easily we can be manipulated.
Behemoth's BattleBlock Theater coming to XBLA
43
It's hard to say just how good The Behemoth's newly announced BattleBlock Theater will be when it launches (no release date yet!). Even with all the clips and screens we've seen and all the time we've spent with the title (previously codenamed Game 3), we still don't have a deep understanding of what, exactly, is going on. But the team's got a pretty good track record with Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid, so we're willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

oh my goodness, this. I love the behemoth's games, but I don't love how every game always has some glitch that makes part of the game completely unplayable. Alien Hominid had that glitch that made it impossible to save your game, and castle crashers was completely unplayable online. This game looks awesome, but please, please test over and over and over again, so we don't have to wait months for you to release a patch just so we can play it.

I'm not even a common poster but yes a reader of Joystiq and I have to say TheLastGuardian your talking too much crap, if you don't like the way the Joystiq writers do their job just go to another website. Easy.
If you don't like Castle Crashers (Beside you might not even have never played it) then you should not look forward to this game.

TheLastGuardian said, "I refuse to support wishwashyness like that. Especially for a small Arcade game. Not to mention all the bugs it's got."
Yeah, stick to those principles. And especially don't buy anything from them now that they're donating 100% of their proceeds to Haiti relief efforts. I suppose they deserve what they get for associating themselves with a wishywasy developer, right?
Dude, really? It's a team of like 4 guys, they need all the support they can get. They're not putting out Dan Brown novels, making games is a LOT of work. I will not begrudge them making a few extra bucks porting a game over to another platform if it means more return on their investment. Ultimately more cash means more games, and everyone wins.
Check the console fanboyism at the door, exclusivity doesn't automatically make games better.

Do they? Do they really!? Because I couldn't play Castle Crashers online with my friends for six friggin' months.
And before you say, "LOL JERK FACE YOU SHOULD HAVE PLAYED SPLIT SCREEN LIEK ME AND MY FRIENDS LOL," recall that I am not eleven

Art style is cool. I liked Alien Hominid (used to play it way before its console release on newgrounds), Castle Crashers was ok. Can't say I am really all that excited about BattleBlock from what I have seen so far. The whole block levels just look kinda cheap... For some reason it reminds me of some crummy XBL Indie game rather than something the Behemoth did. I am sure my views are unfounded and the game will be great when it is out.

Joystiq, you really put the "enthusiast" in enthusiast press.
Yeah, you are sorta easily manipulated. But considering how bitter, partisan and pessimistic everyone else is out there in the gaming blog world, that's why I stick with you guys. Don't ever change.

The game looks awesome and the trailer was amazingly done. It's probably not easy to make quickly drawn cartoon people getting killed make people cry.

I love these guys' work. They are always fresh and funny. Sure, there have been some technical issues but considering the amount of fun I have had with their previous games I would buy this one on day one. However, since I have opted out of the 360 alternative lifestyle I won't be buying unless they do another version. I have high hopes because of the Castle Crashers announcment and I will buy it again.
Can't wait for a release date.

So this is why they were making such a big deal about donating to Haiti. It was all marketing, just like I had said before.
I donated, but you don't see me going around talking about how much I did, except for now of course.
