You can call them "the living dead", you can call them "the undead", just don't. call them. ZOMBIES.

They are Mutants, please don't use the Z word.

I have never, ever cared about MMOs. Ever.

Until now.

I used to play RO but that was like 8 years ago, now I'm really curious about this game.

Is it just me or does anyone else also have trouble viewing the videos that joystiq posts? It just says "Loading video information" & NEVER loads the video. I wonder if this has something to do with the domain name that joystiq uses for the videos. Especially considering I edited my hosts file to block certain sites.

Probably; it may be trying to fetch some advertising content (not the video itself, but maybe an overlay or something that you won't even see). Try renaming your custom HOSTS file and replacing it with a blank one.

I haven't used HOSTS or IP blocking in a long time... adblock gets it all done for me.

This is substantially less cool than the earlier trailer with the Asian chick and the crazy monster in her apartment... That made it seem like there was this crazy magical universe hidden behind a modern world, which sounded like a really original premise. This sounds exactly like a Silent Hill to me....

This is one town in the game, not the whole game.

Any interest I had in this is now lost... oh well. Completely unoriginal.

Yes, because there are so many massively multi-player online games with fog zombies set in a creepy, modern day, small town. Right.

This is the first MMO I've actually had a decided interest in playing, and not just a "I guess I'll see what all the noise is about".

It's rather refreshing to have a modern day setting, and then you add in all the mythos stuff like Cthulhu and conspiracy theories.

The gameplay sounds pretty nice too, especially the character system. I kinda look forward it.

To the contrary, it's actually a contrived explanation for respawn!

Sounds interesting, but I can't help but cry at the idea of another game that loses so much potential by being turned into an MMO.

Imagine this setting, with Oblivion-level freedom to explore and make your own story.

Interesting concept as a piece of an MMO... although it's not something I'd want to play primarily. Tell me more about the modern day conspiracy stuff and chicks with magical tattoos and slurpees

pretty sweet PS2 level graphics. uhh. oh, it is pc game? uhhh. there should be a term for the public's strange ability to mistake MMO graphics for cutting edge. why are MMO graphics always stepping backwards in time and sucking?

also,
pretty annoying nasal narrator guy.
nirritir giy is inniyingly nisil.

It seems the fog brought bad grammar as well.

It's "we who survived" not "us who survived". Unless the narrator is just displaying the high quality of the local education system in Kingsmouth. Otherwise it's just annoying.
