Ever since the supposedly limited run of the Halo 3 Legendary Edition was first released, we've watched its price slowly tumble. Originally sporting a hefty $129.99 price tag, we've seen the price slide ever lower as retailers, desperate for shelf space, slashed the price again and again. Now, 1saleaday.com is selling copies of the Legendary Edition for the absolute rock-bottom price of $30. That's thirty bones for Halo 3, your very own cat helmet and more behind-the-scenes bonus features than you can shake a plasma sword at. The item is listed as "new," although it's hard to imagine the packaging has survived nearly three years without acquiring a few bumps and bruises.
Keep in mind that we have no idea how reliable 1 Sale A Day is, but you're not likely to find a better price than this. There are only a few hours left on the sale, so both of you remaining Legendary fence-sitters had better hop to it.

At that price it's well worth it. The developer commentary on Halo and Halo 2 is excellent.

So wait...you mean wearing the helmet doesn't make me a Spartan?

Wow. How many of these did they make if they're still selling and what did Microsoft think the demand was? I know someone who bought a new one a couple of months ago and it still had the sticker on it warning store employees not to open it up before the release date, so it's not like they're still cranking them out.

Less than a million, if the numbering on the back is anything to go by.

I got mine for $60 on Amazon just one month after the game came out. I laughed all the way to the bank with that one.

Well...I guess I could pick up another one and modify the helmet into a paintball mask.

Anyone had experience with this site? I'm tempted because I love Halo 3 but I googled the site and a lot of people say that it's a really sketch site. Slow shipping, terrible refund policy, sometimes people never get their items, etc. I'm torn whether to risk it or not.

Saw it at Best Buy 2 years ago for $30, bought four. Sold 2 as is on eBay, sold the other two without the helmets. Made a little profit.
Saw them at a FYE store in MD last year for $30, too.
So just remember this the next time a company says a version will be "limited." I still see the occasional MW2 package with the goggles. I'll pick that one up when it drops to $30 as well.

I've ordered about 10 times from 1saleaday.com. They're based out of New York and they're pretty good for the most part. Mostly I've gotten free stuff (just pay s/h) or really low priced goodies. I would have pounced on this deal if I had some cash.
