What's funny is I saw an attack post by nofriendo in another thread from a while back today and thought, "Hey, I haven't see that guy's flaming people in a while." Then, *poof*- there you are still making the world mad.

@ Brian

"Post Nuclear Simulation. Explore the treacherous wastes of the Great Southwest from the safety and comfort of your very own vault"

I'm looking forward to more details, but already a day one purchase for me based on the last fallout.

I'm stoked for New Vegas. I think Obsidian can do a great job. NWN2 was a lot of fun, and even though Kotor2 had that massive hiccup at the end (F-U Lucasarts), it was very well written and a metric shitton sterling of fun.

I'm going to put this game on my wedding registry...

...you know, to spread awareness.

If it's has good as Fallout 3 (I'm currently replaying it) and has less bugs, I'll be more than happy :)

I'm hoping they go the way of Mass Effect 2 and streamline the hell out of it. And, yes, I just finished Mass Effect 2 so most of my comments for the next week or so are going to be along the lines of "I hope they make it like Mass Effect 2." But, seriously... make it like Mass Effect 2.

I hope they have more interesting companions this time. I never found any of them in Fallout 3 to be that internesting, except for Fawkes cause he was a Super Mutant and nobody really knew if he was a man or a woman before the devs confirmed he was the former. They might as well have given me a floating gun power and a few hundred more slots in my inventory and I would not have felt a difference.

They were still better than the ones in Oblivion who decided that it would be best to charge the enemy you were bombarding with magic.

Oh please, I hope Bethesda doesn't make the next Fallout suck, Obsidian has some of the designers behind Fallout 1/2 so this game will kick ass. Show Bethesda how to make a true Fallout game!

Obsidian's Neverwinter Nights 2 is one of my absolute favorite RPGs and it completely blew away BioWare's NWN1.

I think history will repeat here.

In Obsidian we trust. At the very least it will have a much much better story. It's so good to see Fallout back in the hands of the original people. Can't wait to see what they do with it.

Kick ass. I'm so ready. I found a collection at Wal Mart containing Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics that I've been playing thru and its all I can do to keep from playing thru the third one again. Fall should give me enough time to finish these up and take a break before diving back in again

The poor visual quality of the trailer really hurt my excitement level. The prospect of more color in the game is certainly refreshing but I'll reserve my judgment for when I see some gameplay.

And yes, that certainly DOES resemble a Helghast. Almost TOO closely.

Clearly that looks nothing like a Helghast! You must be mistaken! We're not infiltrating New Vegas, no way.

Thanks Justin! It's much much better.

I was now able to see that the flag behind our Helghast friend is that of.....California?

No...it can't be.

@ Jerk Face

They didn't rise to power in California after the Great War, they merely invaded. Also after the Oil Rig incident their forces were thrown into complete chaos. It was only after Eden summoned them to the East Coast that they truly became a threat again.

Just as an FYI to everyone who downvoted my comment. The Initial trailer that was posted was a pixelated mess, as evident by Justin McElroy's reply to my post. So I'm not sure (other than matching this comment with the now MUCH BETTER VIDEO) what would prompt you to downvote me.

assuming that you aren't joking storm, I'm pretty sure that's the flag of the New California Republic. If we could see it fully it would have a two headed bear in front of the letters NCR in red

Looks to me like the current California flag, but with the two headed bear. So, http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/File:FB6_NCR_flag.jpg that, but with the two-headed bear.

It could be, especially since the vault dweller's grandchild went to Vegas in Fallout 2 (though not as impressively cool as the Vegas in the trailer).

Try the official site: http://fallout.bethsoft.com/ Much better quality there. And you can see that the shadowy figure at the end is absolutely a Helghast.

Ah thank you:) Yeah thats a complete rip off of a Helghast! Although its still very cool. Pretty obvious that its all CGI, is this running on the Fallout 3 engine or whatever engine Obsidian uses? We might get a Fallout with good animations:O

I must say I'm quite astonished by the continuing support of this game by Bethesda and co.

I would have initially expected one or two DLCs packs but they just keep coming ...

Glad I still got my copy

It isn't dlc at all dude

it's a brand new game by diffrent developer's (obsidian which has some of the guys/gals who created fallout 1/2)

it'll be a diffrent storyline ad such

it won't extend on fallout 3 like the fallout 3 dlc did

also the guy's who created fallout 3 aren't creating new vegas

all bethesda are doing is distributing it and selling it not making it

Back when Kotaku first broke this story last winter or spring, it was stated that New Vegas will follow the Fallout 3 gameplay formula. I'm guessing more of the same. Which is ok with me.

Look at the openings to 1 and 2, every single fallout has the "cheery old time music+idylic scene zoom out oh my god we're in a wasteland". It's tradition!
