As much as i loved FO3, I still missed the West Coast setting...so glad to see it back. My only hope is that your character can join the New California Repbublic army and help them clean up Sin City.

Another kick-ass WRPG. Nice. Final Fantasy 2134213, and "Emo saving the world 2312" have nothing to offer this year it seems.

JRPGs and FPSs are two genres that need to die out.

This is a very exciting trailer. I wonder what the game-play elements will be like though. The V.A.T.S. system was really great and very fresh. I'm not sure if Obsidian will be able to take anything from Fallout 3 or even if they would want to. What I would like to see is a very immersive world. I really enjoyed the music is Fallout 3(Ella and Loius) but would have liked to have had a lot more music from the era. I guess only time will tell. Thanks for the post Justin!

I had every intention of skipping on this title, but ugh... who am I kidding? I loved FO3.

I only wish, since its a spin-off, that they would allow you the choice either to take the Lone Wanderer to New Vegas or start an entirely new character. Either way, the folks of New Vegas would be entirely new to your character.

I hope they put some prices on the items in this one. In Fallout 3 money didn't really matter since every weapon and armor was dirt cheap (which doesn't even really make sense in the post apocalypse.)

Wow, they have an entire city illuminated and livable. Those capital wastelanders are a bunch of lazy pricks

lol...I was thinking the same thing.

The nukes somehow managed to completely miss the actual city by several miles perhaps?

Well, DC would definitely be a priority target in a nuclear attack, while Las Vegas would probably lie lower on the list. Regardless, I was pretty surprised at the condition of the city, it's not like fallout, nuclear winter and general hellish conditions wouldn't still effect them.

Actually, yes. The Capital Wasteland supposedly was bombed into... well, lower paleolithic, and the West Coast into the upper one, if you get what I mean. Although I think this is kind of rubbish, there's nothing left of the suburban city parts in California, and DC has whole towns intact. Beth, well, sucks at making a coherent entry into the franchise. At least the game was fun with mods.
*sigh*
Beth, please do better next time. After Oblivion and F3 I want to proud of you again. Pretty please with lots of sugar. ^^
With Obsidian I have no problems at all. Many of the fine folks who made F1&2 the great games they are currently work there. That alone is enough. Plus, genius Oblivion modder Oscuro works there, and on New Vegas too. ^^

Fallout 3 is my favorite game of the last ...probably decade or so. Needless to say I'm hyped for New Vegas.

I'm on my third play through of Fallout 3 and having a blast.

All I could ask for from this is a level cap more correspondent to the amount of enemies you fight. No fun reaching the cap when there's half a wasteland left to explore!!

Joystiq, listen.

This comment system is a complete, utter failure.

And do you know why?

How could I possibly come to that conclusion now that it's free of the bugs that plagued us in the past?

Well, Joystiq... THIS is why.

Do you know how posting works now?

This is how it goes. People will post their comments. Now, see, way back when the downvote system was first implemented, you know what it was used for? Hey, that's right! Weeding out the truly terrible posts/spam posts from the rest of them.

That's not how it goes any more.

These days, the troglodytes that use the system don't view it as a useful tool to help better the site. They use it as a way to silence any and all opinions that don't match up with theirs, and it's god damn pathetic.

"Ooh, I like him, UPVOTE"
"Hey, he made a funny! UPVOTE"
"OMG 4chan UPVOTE"
"Hey, I had a disagreement with that guy about a month ago! DOWNVOTE DOWNVOTE DOWNVOTE"

I hardly ever agree with Tmac, but seeing this shit just gets me disappointed. See, I used to frequent this site hardcore. I was one of the first regulars in these comment sections - I was here for the whole Wii shipment debacle, all the way to the style shift. Some of y'all might have seen me then - I was Vince/XtaLarge/TheFatassofKickassness/other names I can't remember. Through several accounts (none of which were ever banned, mind you), I've accumulated thousands of posts. Ever since this downvote system, though... I just can't tolerate this site anymore.

I'm done. I know one user doesn't mean shit to you guys in the grand scheme of things (as I'm sure everyone who replies to me is just itching to point out), but screw it. I'm out.

I'm with you, Fun. The children who are lurking all over Joystiq this days are really bringing it down. If it weren't for the fact that I genuinely like the reporting the site does, I'd be long gone too.

Sorry..I suppose I should have said "closer to the West Coast" as in, West of the Rockies. ;) I loved how in FO2 had Reno as a place you could visit...even though it had a new name.

Obsidian gave us KotOR 2 which was one of my favorite games last generation. As much as I enjoyed Fallout 3 I can't help but view the switch over to Obsidian as a GOOD thing.
