For far too long, Joystiq has brought you stories of sales applicable only to certain games. But finally we can bring word of a bargain limited only by ... your imagination. That's because game trading site Goozex is offering 1000 points of its currency for just $27.50. Those of you familiar with the site know that 1,000 points is the price reserved for the newest games, meaning you'll be able to pick up nearly brand new releases for a little over $25.
Or, you can buy Another World three times. Imagination!
[Thanks, Cole]

I've wanted to use Goozex before but never got around to it, but this may get me to start using it.

Info is here: http://www.anotherworld.fr/anotherworld_uk/
Plus a demo and link to buy it from metaboli (dunno about regional restrictions).
I think the original creator got the rights back, and made the updated version himself.

to anyone signing up, check the availability of the game(s) that you want BEFORE you buy the points. i signed up hoping to get dragon age but it turns out there's a long wait for it (over 200 users in front of me waiting for a copy to free up). it's a good deal, but not worth waiting 2 months to get the game.

I remember that ride at Disney World...well EPCOT really, but anyway, that dude scared me, but the little purple dragon dude, figment, was cool, reminds me of lockheed.
Anyway, Never used Goozex, so not sure really how it works. Would it be worth it to get in on this deal and does it work here in canada?

I've been using Goozex for a while. It's where I got most of my 360 games and where I traded them in for Wii games.

Does it work internationally? How do they handle that?

I have saved quite a bit of money the last 6 months by using Goozex, but for those that are just now starting I would recommend getting on at 1:00 am EST this Tuesday (Monday night) and try and reserve either Bioshock 2 or Dante's Inferno. It is crazy how many people use the service and copies of games are really hard to get. I was not sure if I wanted to try Dragon Age, when I woke up Tuesday (the day it came out) at like 7:00 am I decided to put in for it and I was like 322nd in line. Just a warning to those who are going to spend 27.50 for 1000 points that they won't end up using for a couple of months of waiting. On another note it is the best way to pick up old titles. For 1000 points you could pick up like Bioshock, Mass Effect, Dead Space and Assasins Creed.

This is true. I use goozex quite a bit and it is really a great service for getting games that are a year or two old as the most recent games often have extremely long waiting lists. If you are patient it works out just fine, but if you really want to play a game now then I'd avoid buying the points.

"meaning you'll be able to pick up nearly brand new releases for a little over $25."
Hardly. It's already super tough to get brand new releases (everyone wants them, no one wants to get rid of them). Now with everyone buying 1000 points thinking "oh hey I'll just use this to get a new game for $27.50 like a week after it comes out, I'm so smart" it's going to be borderline impossible.
Bioshock 2 will drop and there will probably be about 20,000 people requesting it and maybe 100 people having it available. If you like those odds, more power to ya.

I remember this freakin ride from Epcot, its the same dude they parody on South Park in the imagination land episode. Throughout the ride he would just sing about the wonders of imagination and sing the imagination song while sending you down the trippy lazer tunnels with fake walls or some optical illusion. The only characters name I remember was Figment. He was this dragon that throughout the ride would show up on screens and do crazy cartoon stuff. Thanks for the nostalgia Joystiq!

Damn you, Joystiq! You just *had* to use that picture, didn't you?
When I was but a wee lad I loved the Imagination Station. Twas' my favorite attraction in all of Disney. But several years ago I visited it again after several years of toil in this cruel world to find that it no longer exists. It had been replaced with a flashy plastic technology display that appears to have been put together by a Mac-user on meth locked in a storage closet for three days.
Even Figment is gone! FIGMENT! The wee purple dragon who so filled my little heart with glee long ago is nowhere to be found at that attraction that spawned him! Now he lives only in the merchandise available for purchase for annoyed parents to buy their children only to have the little ones wonder aloud who he is!
Finally now that all is going well in my life you have shattered my heart and soul all over again! The sun shall nevermore shine in my presence, the clearest and coolest water shall be as stale, scalding sludge to my dry throat and the sweetest foods no better than salted ash to my parched palete, and all efforts of advancement in life so futile as a piece of driftwood cast about in the wake of the fiercest storm!
All hope is lost! A pox upon both your houses, Joystiq! Curse you! CURSE YOU!
...
Other than that, good post.

Pfft, good luck trying to get a new game. They're usually in very high demand, so it may take a bit of waiting until you get your chance.
Also, love Goozex, I got rid of a ton of games I never touch anymore and gave nearly 4000 points on my account. Heh-heh.
