I've got the first "Just Cause" (got it for $7.99) and wasn't to impressed (I've yet to finish it, cause it seem like a cheap knock off of Mercenaries) but I'll give Just Cause 2's demo a try.

Wha... Mercenaries 2 was a cheap knockoff of itself.

@Gutsman's

Ahhh, the fun of sarcasm.

Because no other enjoyable and/or fun games of the last decade had bugs, right?

I love how people say Mercs was a bad game because of bugs. I played to nearly 100% completion, and never encountered a bug. Guess I'm blessed. lol

The only thing i remember about mercs 2 was that crazy ethnic AI that would always shout "he's beind the cover" and "he's behind the tree!"

I love pandemic and I love mercs 1 but damn mercs 2 was as much fun as a peroxide enima

In my experience, both games had their faults, but I would take Just Cause over Mercs 2 any day of the week.

I felt like Mercs 2 was a jumbled mess. The shooting mechanics and feel were awful, in my opinion, so much so that I simply could NOT get past them and have a good time.

Just Cause, on the other hand, had a weird 'lock-on' mechanic that was also no so inviting, but I was enjoying the over the topness of the game enough to stick with them a bit longer. While there really wasn't any skill aim, there was a degree of mastery you could attain by practicing with the lock-on mechanic. You could become quite fluid, jumping from target to target to explosive to car to target again, and feel like a huge badass.

I understand that is a pretty subjective experience, and I can understand why anyone would give up on either game before discovering the joys of each... but for my personal experience, I simply could not get past Mercs2's faults, but adored Just Cause.

To each his own, I suppose.

hope it's better than that goddamn avp demo, which probably had the fastest downloaded-to-deleted time of any demo I've played

i agree with whylekat, all games should have demos released no later than 7 days before the full game is released in my opinion. otherwise now with all the return policies, especially here in the UK, once the security seal is broken thats it u cant return it. At least that way we can decide whether or not to go out and spend our hard earned money on them. Cant wait for a dead rising 2 demo.

The original Just Cause demo had me sold. It was the mediocre reviews that stopped me from picking it up. The mechanics and ideas within were pretty cool and integrated well, despite borrowing things from other games.

Come on, its video games we're talking about. At this point a single innovative diffrentiation on the standard formula is hailed as game of the year contenders.

I have high hopes for his demo. Then again, if it sucks, at least I can save sixty bucks. This onslaught of games is killing me. I wonder if 'unemployment' gives raises? I'll have to speak to my adjudicator about this.

They already have my purchase, this demo will just assist in appeasing my appetite whilst I wait for the game its self. Now, my only question is, should I buy this game for the Ps3 (Due to the video recorder, and upload to YT feature) or for the 360 due to the fact that it (Most likely) will run just a bit smoother.

JEERS to Joystiq's Ben Gilbert from forgetting the most important part of any post about Just Cause 2:

Stunt position. Stunt position. Stunt position.

Okay, now just highlight that line, CTRL-C, then CTRL-V anywhere in the post. You are very welcome.

The developer walkthrough videos on youtube look fantastic for this game. Looking forward to it, just wish there was some kind of multiplayer!
