Please dear god, be compatible with the DJ Hero controller, don't make me have to buy another turntable! :(

The DJ Hero theory is a possibility, but I recall reading something about Snoop Dog tracks coming to Rock Band. I think this constitutes as branching out with the music store more than anything else.

I remember hearing about a def jam hiphop game, but no more since E3. If DJ Hero or something like it can get some Mic intergration with the turntable that would make for a decent hip-hop title (if handled correctly).

PS2 had something like it, Get on the Mic, but there was no DJ intergration and it was more or less a hip-hop version of karaoke revolution.

I think the next Hero game will be in response to the Beatle's harmony singing:

Barbershop Hero

I've not heard these tracks before so I can't comment on how they would play in Rock Band, but I do know that hip hop is not unheard of in the RB Store. MC Frontalot has two tracks in the store now, so I don't think it would be that weird to just play some hip hop on the standard RB instruments.

Hey kids, shake it loose together
The spotlights hitting something
That's been known to change the weather
Well kill the fatted calf tonight
So stick around
You're gonna hear electric music
Solid walls of sound

Rockband 2 did have some Gorillaz tracks, to my delight. I wouldn't be surprised (and delighted) if they brought more hip-hop tracks to RB2.

I imagine, according to past HMX statements, that they likely won't even make their own peripheral for this.. I think that'd be smart if they're losing so much money in that dept.

I'd love to see Harmonix make a game compatible with the DJ Hero turntable. Just bought it tonight, and I'm really digging it so far.

couldnt tell you. i dont have rock band 2 and ive only played like 3 songs from it. but i know that if this isnt going on dj hero, it would be stupid. theres no guitar, bass guitar or drums in rap songs. and it wouldnt be singing the songs either (with maybe a few acceptions).

I dunno, but the DJ Hero artists were way better than these. I gotta hand it to Activision, they got some of the best Hip-hop artists in the world.

Come on obvious, you have no idea how hard it is to be a Hip-Hop artist. Do you know how much talent it takes for them to make their voices sound naturally electronic? It's not like producers have some magic software to automatically fix the vocals of every single song. There isn't even device that every single hip-hop singer uses to sound exactly alike.

Oh, wait. NVM.

An answer to DJ Hero? Tsk, tsk, Joystiq, methinks you know nothing of Harmonix before Guitar Hero made them famous.

What this says to me is that FREQUENCY/AMPLITUDE LIVES AGAIN! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

I don't see why you can't put them in Rock Band, is variety really such a bad thing?

We could use more stuff like this and less Metal.

I love Rock Band for its diversity. If we can jam to ABC, I Want You Back, Ghostbuster and Word Up, why can't we jam to these? As long as it’s fun to play who cares if its rap. If you want to talk about repetitive, play most of AC/DC stuff on drums. Man I hit when "Let There Be Rock" shows up in my playlist, crap that is repetitive.
