While we're inclined to argue that most gamers' hands are in possession of a Wiimote and Nunchuk (at least that's what the numbers tell us), moving to the other consoles is a fairly understandable choice given the relatively low sales of HVS' previous Wiisclusive title. "We are extremely proud of the sales for The Conduit, with over 350,000 copies sold, numerous 'best-of 2009' nods, and over a million hours played according to the Nintendo Channel," noted CEO Kerry Ganofsky. From the interview, it appears that the studio's proprietary game engine ("Quantum 3") will also be heading to the other consoles. Does that mean a Conduit port to the 360 and PS3 is in the cards? Hopefully we'll find out when we next see HVS at the Game Developer's Conference this March. In the meantime, we've embedded a new trailer after the break.
High Voltage Studios reveals The Grinder to be multiplatform

Speaking exclusively with IGN, The Conduit developer High Voltage Studios has revealed its upcoming game The Grinder to be heading to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, as well as the Nintendo Wii. Previously announced as another of HVS' exclusive games for the Wii aimed at teh hardcorez, the game will now end up on every console, which "allows us [High Voltage] to show off what our company can really do and get it into the hands of the most gamers."

So they are proud that their game was played on average for about 3 hours?

Uhh...did I miss something? Who gave The Conduit best of...well, anything?
Regardless, this is not worth celebrating over 360/ps3 fans. These guys are not very good developers at all, just check their history on wikipedia.

I've heard from just about everyone that even the COD 4 port was better than the conduit.

No, it wasn't a good playable game. The fact that you used the word "playable" tells me a lot.
It was mediocre at best. A two year old port of COD4 turned out to be better than the Conduit.

It's true, Modern Warfare Reflex Edition trumps Conduit in every fashion. There is no comparison. Also, the online is effortless and lightning quick. And actually has ppl on it. I've never played less than a 10 player match in any game.
I still think Treyarch could have made it run at 60fps though...

You didn't get the memo, Jerk Face? The internet is serious business, especially Joystiq.

Jerkface, when tmac can prove he's a reasonable poster on this site without insulting everything and/or when 98% of his comments no longer have some sort of double meaning or malicious intent to them, THEN people might stop down-voting him for no reason.
There's a reason he keeps getting banned lately. Him whining about it doesn't mean it wasn't well deserved.

Playable? Yes.
Good? In someways. It basically showed that the Wii has un-tapped potental that they didn't bother to go all out on. Plus, the ASE was a stupid idea.

Tmac, even though I disagree with some of your comments sometimes I do not downvote you so no one can agree nor do I report. A ban I find silly aswell as you're not outright attacking people either.
So, where did all this hate come from? As all you're doing is expressing your oppinions like everyone else.

How odd.
Also, why is your post saying you herd from a lot of people COD4: R was better then Conduit faded out?(Other then the obvious reason)
Why fade out someone for just saying what they herd true from people and know is true themselves.
Hell, CoD:W@W was better then conduit.

Maybe they feel since he was banned it doesn't give him the right to come back? If you get banned from best buy I'm pretty sure they'd kick you out a week later even if you weren't shoplifting again.

By that logic than Brad should be IP banned as well and never come back...
And so should you, since you know, you have been banned before as well.

Seems like you don't want to take any responsibility for the bannings. Do you think they have a vendetta against you?

Graphics aren't essential to a game. The Conduit looked interesting, almost enough to get me to buy a Wii.

I play the 2600 all the time and have a good time. Atlantis is one of the best games of all time.

"if graphics aren't important on a game, go back and play the Atari and tell me how much fun you have."
I don't like what you're implying. The only reason some atari games might not be a lot of fun anymore is because of their gameplay-technical deficiencies. Games like the NES Super Mario Bros 3 trump about 90% of all modern dreck that hits the shelves these days, yes, in all its glorious sixteen colors at a resolution of 256x240.

Good call - Atlantis was a great game - though I have not played a 2600 in well over 15 years. Atlantis went very well with an evening of Gran Prix and Asteroids....followed by the occasional bout of E.T.
Yes I had that game, yes I played it. Yes I hated it. Stupid ET and those holes. I don't know how it ended, but I hope it was on an operating table in a military complex. With probes. butt probes.

And some of those are due to the limited graphics. Yes, you can indeed have a good game with simple graphics, but it's equally true that many games benefit from more modern graphics. You point out SMB3, yet that are literally thousands of NES games that aren't worth a damn and would be less entertaining than our "modern dreck".

The Conduit was really there to show FPS's could work on the Wii control style and online play. I pre-ordered it, and I can say it's a very generic game. If it came to the PS3/360 it'd be complete shit. There's a reason people say "It's good.. for a Wii game." Trust me, I love my Wii and still am pressing through quite a few games, but it just wasn't a good game. I liked Red Steel better then Conduit.

So long as they give the game the attention they would have given it had it remained Wii exclusive, i don't have a problem with the move. Much more concerned about the Halloween 2011 thing, given that the new Nintendo console will probably be imminent by then
If what was shown above is still Wii footage though (and i think it's supposed to be), they've improved greatly.

That's the Wii build up there. If you read the IGN interview they talk a little bit about the upgrades the engine has seen for this game. Now that it's going to the other platforms they can make it look as good as they want on the Wii and people will still be comparing, graphically (which never makes sense) to the HD systems.
I think it's a good move for them and I doubt Wii owners really care. I know I don't. Now I have the option of choosing the best version of the game... if this game is worth choosing in the end, that is.

The Grinder always seemed like a natural progression from the fun Hunter series - sorta; hack and slash elements curbed for a more survival horror experience. Both have a high focus on co-op. Well that's just going on the limited amount of attention I've given the game.
The first Hunter game was available on the Xbox first, and then the Gamecube. Simply put, I don't think the developers would have been able to wring another two games if the original had stayed platform exclusive. The numbers were simply not there. That sort of thinking might be at play here.

I can understand the sour grapes over No More Heroes and the subsequent celebration of its arrival on the HD consoles.
But The Conduit? An exceptionally generic entry in a pool that's already awash with banality?
Trust me, you're not missing much.

I don't think many folks were too sour over No More Heroes getting a PS3 and 360 port. I get the impression that a lot of people were cool with it.
...maybe that's because Suda came out immediately and said he had nothing to do with it and was opposed to the idea, though.

I was referring to when it was originally shipped exclusively for the Wii and the pursuant reaction from the HD coterie to the positive response it got: "NMH? Overrated, pleeze."
Of course, that all changed a few months ago when it was announced for the other consoles. Such is the natural trajectory of fanboyism.

Yeah but Suda is against the port. Which I don't think US will be getting a port as Ubisoft was fine with NMH sales in US. Marv. was dissapointed in the sales of their games in all countries so they decided to port a lot of them from Wii to PS3/360.

Looks good enough to me. The Conduit was a stepping stone for them. And while it was nothing to write home about, it was a damn 7.0-ish solid title for the Wii.
