At long last, the never-ending mystery of whether Rockstar's "gritty detective tale," L.A. Noire, will be a multiplatform release has ... well, ended. And in a pretty unspectacular way, to boot -- in the comments section of a Game Informer post teasing the magazine's in-depth print preview of L.A. Noire, editor Matthew Kato explained, "It's not a PS3-exclusive," later adding, "it was at one point, but it's coming out for the PS3 and 360." (We've contacted Rockstar to verify this apparent reveal.)
Now, we won't know whether this news is worth getting excited about until Game Informer's preview hits newsstands. We're getting tentatively pumped, though -- but that's only because of our pure, unswerving love of fedoras. Seriously, we can't get enough of 'em.

I'm glad too. This was one of those games that I'd be sad to miss out on (if it turns out to be good). Looking forward to it now.

Every studio has the potential to put out a bad game, especially when a new property is involved.
For the record, I didn't feel like GTA2 was all that great back in the day. I liked Bully, but it had quality control issues. Manhunt wasn't impressive.
I think L.A. Noire looks alright, but like I said, I'm not entirely interested unless it turns out to be good or not.

Um, why? I didn't think that this was ever a PS3 exclusive. Rockstar said MANY moons ago that LA Noire was NOT the PS3 exclusive they were making. THAT game is called Agent. Did everyone not get the memo?

Indeed, that's a very 'accurate' comparison. How did you come up with it?

We all agree that 3rd party exclusives are a thing from the past (Except from a couple of titles), good thing more people will enjoy this game.
I guess this is why SONY this generation has put much more effort in bringing quality 1st party titles.
Anyway good thing is Friday too!

I'm not much for beer, but if you have anything with a little Vodka in it I'll gladly accept it and join you in the festivities.
Besides, I've been looking for an excuse to get a little drunk lately.

i agree. i'll try and find a link- but i'm pretty sure that the change to a Multi-platform release was made last summer. around the time that Sony announced that "Agent" was their exclusive Rockstar title.
Now if "Agent" goes multi-platform, then i fully understand if the internet goes nuts...

The GTA IV content was never full exclusive, it was always labled a timed exclusive.

yea sprinkles I was talking about the GTA4 DLC....
I KNOW that LA Noire was suppose to exclusive.....but the game cost over $100 million to make....them keeping it exclusive to one console was not cost effective.....

Meh, LA Noire was annouced before Ken Kutaragi left Sony. I'm usually expecting all PS3 exclusives before Kutaragi left to go multiplatform.

Hooboy...this will go well.
As long as one port isn't gimped because of the other (I'm looking at YOU, FFXIII) I'm fine. This game probably cost so much to develop it's too expensive to be exclusive.
Though it does seem wrong, since Sony sunk 20+ million into the game...

I meant the PS3 features like dual voice tracks that were removed to be 'fair' to the 360 version.
