Throwing a single level flashback to WWII in a modern warfare game is pretty original. I've never seen it be done.

Everything in that ESRB description sounds awesome, can't wait. The demo is a blast, last time I checked I was about 350 on the PS3 leaderboards. =D

while i'm not buying it for the single player, i think that it is a disservice to ignore it (not that that's what you were implying i realize)

I hope spoiling the game for everyone was worth the extra hits, Joystiq.

Why not post all the spoilers from the ESRB rating of Heavy Rain as well? That one is full of them.

Spoiler to the opening of the game?

Anyone who buys, and plays it will know about this right away, considering it's how the game starts.

It's nor like the said you're meeting haggard's grandfather and he gets shot and dies in your arms with a funny quip. It's an opening level that probably sets the mood. Looting is a wartime tradition.

Normally I'm not one for calling spoiler on anything, but I do think maybe something like not including it in the title would have been a better option, I'd have much rather found this out as I experienced it.

The more profanity the better. It's actually hilarious. My favorite has to be when the Medic throws some aid on the ground and says "Heal yourself up with that shit" XD

it actually isn't a "flashback", it's more along the lines of the ww2 mission sets the rest of the game up for the story.

Good point! My logic was "Eastern Front = Far East countries, Western Front = Western Europe." That said, I've edited above to reflect my Asian Front intentions. :) Sorry about that!

I’m Preston Marlowe.
You know, when I grew up all I ever wanted to be was a soldier. Runs in the family, I guess. My dad was in Vietnam. My grandfather fought the Nazis. Me, I just couldn’t wait to get out there and fight for truth, justice and the American way.

POTENTIAL SPOILER?

in battlefield 1943, on wake island, you can go to one of the "mini" islands, and there is "Marlowe was here..." written in the sand...

Well I definitely heard the other team speaking Japanese last night when I played this for the first time. It reminded me of 1943, which is the only Battlefield I own / have played. I honestly will say that I sucked ass at this. I do not like the default class weapons at all. However, I did see some guy killing lots of people with an M240 so I suppose as you rank-up, your weapons do too. I just haven't had enough time with it, I guess...

They were speaking Russian, not Japanese. I'm sure there is no Japanese faction in Bad Company 2. Also, no your weapons don't rank up. That guy was just a skilled player who was good with that particular weapon.
