ESRB outs WWII-based opening of Bad Company 2

The original Bad Company spinoff in the Battlefield series kept the franchise's setting firmly in modern times, but if the Bad Company 2 ESRB description is true, you'll be seeing a return to WWII in the sequel. At the very least, the game's opening will bring players back to the Pacific side of the war, with the ESRB description saying, "In single-player mode, players conduct missions on an unnamed Japanese island during World War II and then move into the modern day through jungles, deserts, and snowy terrain."

Just like we've discovered in our way too many hours with the game's multiplayer demo, the description details the inclusion of "melee attacks with a power drill" (yes, seriously) and the characters use of profanity "during cutscenes and in the heat of battle." And yes, we're just as excited by the former as you might imagine.

As you level up you get access to new weapons. I think theres 4 or 5 weapons for each class

But all the weapons you unlock have disadvantages and advantages. Just because the dude has an M240 doesn't mean he's gonna own you with your PKM, it's not Halo or Quake, there's no BFG ultimate weapon

The AEK assault rifle is pretty good. So's the M24 sniper rifle, which is the most accurate.
The engineer's 2nd gun has the same stats as the first, but with more ammo.
My brother still uses the medic's first LMG, but I think the 3rd is best.

What really makes a difference, with no disadvantage, are the upgrades you unlock, such as faster sprint, double ammo, double C4, better explosive damage, etc.
Double C4 is somewhat overpowered, since you can blow objectives by yourself, instantly, with 6 charges.

But don't worry overmuch. DICE will balance the weapons and gadgets again before the game comes out. Which reminds me to ask them to restore the Motion Sensors.

Makes sense now why WWII weapons are unlockable.

I seriously can not wait till this game is released...

my brother, and a lot of my good friends who grew up playing battlefield on PC, have it pre-ordered. we've been playing the demo non-stop, and have all settled into our various roles lol... my brother plays as a sniper/gunner, I'm usually engineer/heli pilot, and two of my friends play as medics, one with an LMG, the other likes the shotgun.

last night we played around, got control of both the AH-64 and the Blackhawk, died once the entire match, and racked up close to 30 kills a piece.

sorry, i'll shut up now, i could talk about this game for hours.. my excitement can not be contained.
