Japanese hardware sales, Jan. 25 - Jan. 31: Super Prediction XLIV edition

We're not sure whether any Saints are actually living among us -- even if they were, we doubt they'd agree to participate in such a needless display of pugilism. Worse still, what would they fight? A horse? That would just be unfair. The best compromise we could think of is a brawl between indie singer-songwriter St. Vincent and child star-turned musician Max Slade, who, as you already know, played Colt in the critically acclaimed 3 Ninjas films. We've contacted both parties, and are eagerly awaiting their responses.

Mr Khan @ Feb 7th 2010 5:42PM
Not really. Handhelds are the new kings of Japan.
ColorblindMonk @ Feb 7th 2010 5:34PM
Hm, do you think a PSP Go can last a single football game?
Trickob @ Feb 7th 2010 5:36PM
Dude, St. Francis of Assisi could TOTALLY take a horse in a fight!
Amir Ali @ Feb 7th 2010 5:40PM
VERY Impressed with the St. Vincent reference.
I've seen her live, she is good times.
Wiizer {'''Try'''Replying'''Now'''} @ Feb 7th 2010 5:40PM
GO PS2!
Now if that system's not a Hail Mary, I dunno what is!...
Or, is it a zombie?
That Guy @ Feb 7th 2010 5:45PM
The PSP Go and PS2 still cant get more sales than the 360! AMAZING!
BPMOmega [XBL, PSN, Steam] @ Feb 7th 2010 5:47PM
Well, Wiizer, I WILL try to reply.
And PS2 isn't a zombie, yet. It's just on life support. Once Sony finally stops manufacturing it, and it still sells better than PSP Go, THEN it's a zombie.
Dr. Orpheus @ Feb 7th 2010 5:49PM
Nah the ps2 is that grandfather you have who was in the military and can still kick your ass.
Brian (PC gamer extraordinaire) @ Feb 7th 2010 6:02PM
second hand lions?
Dr. Orpheus @ Feb 7th 2010 8:12PM
I never saw that movie but I know my grandpa who's 85 and looks like he's 60.
Bobby Pin (playwhutyalike) @ Feb 7th 2010 10:38PM
You have to see Second Hand Lions. Stumbled across that movie on TBS on a snowy Sunday afternoon and wasn't prepared for the awesomeness it put in my ears and eyes. Never been so pissed off at commercials in my life.
sony boy (5 years til sony man child!) @ Feb 7th 2010 6:00PM
wow, psp is still pwning.
I heart PSP 2000
Sly @ Feb 7th 2010 6:07PM
yeah, i love the 2000. the only problem with it is that the white analog nub on the star wars white model gets dirty really easily and is a bitch to clean.
xxLUANCHYxx @ Feb 7th 2010 6:48PM
Have you tried Kaboom!?
Bradwart @ Feb 7th 2010 7:11PM
He should try Oxy Clean. It gets your whites...whiter.
Jacksons @ Feb 7th 2010 10:21PM
The 2000 is excellent. While I don't care for the Go, I like that I have the option to buy all the games in digital form thanks to its existence. Some games are perfect to have on a memory stick.
Bradwart @ Feb 7th 2010 7:12PM
No one cares.
Sly @ Feb 7th 2010 7:16PM
and we care why? you can call it whatever you want, but in america, we call this sport football and call your football soccer. deal with it.
Ashitaka @ Feb 7th 2010 7:17PM
I agree with that picture but that was uncalled for. [-]
sonicspike41 - troll defense supplies @ Feb 7th 2010 7:20PM
Can we ever get through one single football article without someone posting the "handegg" images or trying to tell us how we incorrectly named a sport that our country pretty much invented?
Firewarrior @ Feb 7th 2010 7:31PM
Actually Sonicspike, American Football evolved from Rugby, but American Football went pro before Rugby did. Also the word Football was invented by the brits.
The Dark Wayne [Planeteer: Power of the Batusi] @ Feb 7th 2010 11:27PM
so was just about every word in the English language.

I've owned an 360 and PS3 since launch and never played games on my PS3 until last year. Sony is finally starting to make all the right moves with the system and the years of waiting for the exclusives has finally paid off. On the other hand it seems like Microsoft completely rested last year - no good exclusives, no online improvements (although XBL is probably close to perfect and can't think of anything they can add). They need new exclusive IP and I still think they need some sort of Blu-ray option and much larger hard drive.
Sly @ Feb 7th 2010 8:38PM
they do have the much larger hard drive (the new 250GB), but the problem is that it's almost certainly going to be horribly overpriced when it gets released as a standalone product.
'Ironically Ironic' @ Feb 7th 2010 8:31PM
That was hilarious, but since this is such a US centric site you should have (and probably did) expect to be downvoted.
Sly @ Feb 7th 2010 8:37PM
i thought it was funny the first time i saw it, but god damn, every time there's a FOOTBALL post, some jackass has to come and post a link to that pic. we got the point the first time, no need to keep posting it.

SAINTS WIN! COLTS SUCK!
Liquid man @ Feb 8th 2010 6:53PM
The Saints won because of the onside kick, the interception Manning threw, and because they punted the ball instead of going for a TD or at least a field goal in the last few minutes of the 2nd quarter.
To me it was the interception that really killed them though
