Wasn't AC3 supposed to star a new character? Or is that going to be a spin-off or something?

They're discussing a multiplayer spin-off being released (supposedly) later this year.

I was hoping AC3 would be set in some location in Asia.
That would give it a kick ass art style, but you can't underestimate ninjas and samurais!

Maybe it will. That next game they're talking about here isn't AC 3. Think of it as AC 2: ODST.

I hope they do a better job than odst, paying full price for a game that i finish in 1 day and not take out of the box since because te multiplayer has no mathmaking...

The devs said thy don't want to do the sequel in an overused setting, which rules out Japan and China.

I think a good setting would be during the Spanish invasion of Tenochtitlan. The assassin could be Aztec and be set in the months prior to the Spanish siege when Spain was pretending to be friendly.

I'm just so curious about this whole online AC thing. Not excited, just curious. I wonder what it is they're brewing up.

Some kind of co-op assassination shit? Awesome. Stabby team deathmatch? Horrible.

Really enjoyed Assassin's Creed 2, but I can't see myself shelling out $60 for an AC2:ODST. I'll wait for the full sequel that concludes the story with Abstergo Industries, presumably in 2011.

Same here. I mean the animus/assassin parts are really nice, but for me the main draw is the story, how it ties into the past, what the past reveals about the future, and just everything in between.

I'd rather wait for the epic conclusion so I get a chance to run up a wall, backflip behind them, and do a double wrist blade assassination on all the head CEOs of Abstergo. Hell, throw in some poison and throwing knives for added fun against the rest of the higher ups.

Yeah, I'm with you.

It sounds cheap and lazy for the developer to rehash the same main character and venue for part III.

before you call them cheap and lazy, keep in mind this game could be found for like $45 since release day.

As cool as Ezio is, I personally would enjoy a brand new assassin in a time period a little closer to the present.

Perhaps the American Revolution? Or maybe around the time Lincoln was killed? Both could prove for interesting dates for a side story to the main story.

Love it! Rome should be awesome.

I want them to make an AC title in Andalusia - Seville, Granada, Cordoba, christians, jews, muslims - all living, fighting and working together in XVc. I would buy that in 3D.

At this point in the generation, with over seventy million real consoles sold these kind of numbers aren't surprising anymore.

8 million shipped is a lot better than the 3.2 million copies of MASSIVE SUCCESS Dragon Age: Origins that have shipped since it's release. So by your standards of quality: yes, these numbers are quite impressive.

Yeah, I'm hoping AC III will be when the U.S was just being founded or when George Washington was president. That would actually be pretty cool, they could have government conspiracies and stuff... Yeah... That...

Russia would be awesome too, except in the winter, everything is icy and slippery.

I say Balkans circa WWI - Archduke Ferdinand, anarchists, looming world war! I bet 1000 florins.

I loved 1 & 2...I'm looking forward to the DLC to finish up 2. But I don't think they should do a multi-player into the 3rd one. Some games are meant to be solo.

First off, I'd like to say I'm a big fan just like everyone else here posting comments. However, maybe I spend too much time on here, but I'm seeing a lot of misinformation.

The new game starring Ezio, is NOT AC3. The new game starring Ezio, is NOT just multiplayer. It's going to be a new story, but it will feature an additional online facet to the game.

I have to say that I'm pretty excited for anything AC related. Sure they're probably going to use the same in-game engine that they just did for AC2, however if you think about the momentum is just picking up when Ezio arrives in Rome at the end of the game. The templars, historically speaking, have always been heavily tied to Christianity, more specifically, Catholicism, so it makes sense to strike at the heart of the beast where they're most likely to congregate in the heaviest quantities.

I'll get around to picking up AC2 eventually. I just finished slogging through AC1. Between the ridiculous amount of repetition and the lousy ending...I need a bit of a break first.

How about less talking about AC3 and more getting AC2 out for us PC folks. I've already been let down once when they moved the release date from November to March.
