God I love the art in this game. I don't really like fighters, but I was heavily inclined to buy the first one; the 70$ price tag and the fact that you can't find it anywhere in Canada put a stop to that.

Haha...okay. I know it's odd positioning, but she looks pregnant in the first profile picture on the left.

Then I thought, it's just Japanese.

I'm going through withdrawal right now. I need my fighting game fix. I can't bring myself to buy street fighter 4 or blazbue because enhanced versions of the games are coming out soon. So for now, I'm stuck waiting...

Does it have to be a 2D fighter?

Well, if you have PSN or XBL you could get Garou or MvC2... dare I say, Mortal Kombat?

Maybe this mode will work out like that awesome mode on Soul Calibur III that adds stratedgy. Straight-up fighting games do nothing for me, but I liked the mix of fighting and map moving.

Maybe they got rid of the Noel cyborg in favor of a new, more balanced chracter in a similar likeness.

One that can't destroy you with freaking projectiles in 3 seconds.

I think you confused Noel with Nu or v-13 which was kinda OP with her all screen projectile pressure game. Noel is the girl that has the two guns and high pressure close in game. anyway lamda is apparently the new NU and the protectiles don't go as far or do as much damage.

Ballistic, is not a confusion, v-13 is actually Noel (or a clone of her, something like that).

As much as I try to get into BB, I just don't get it. I'm not good at the game, it feels very slow and weird to me. Maybe I'm used to the speed of Arc's other franchise (GG), but I just don't "get it" (the game mechanics). It seems too busy to me, there's a lot of stuff going on, most of the characters have several meters you have to pay attention to (not only life meters and super meters).

Maybe I just need to spend more time with the game, but I would say you're either going to get it or you won't. For some reason, I don't. (And I've played everything dating back to before there was a fighting game genre...back in the Karate Champ and Yie Ar Kung Fu days.)

IMHO the best fighting game available and relevant today is still SSF2THDR. I don't care much for 4 (SF4), KoF99UM has crap netcode, and MvC2 is...MvC2, you either love it or you hate it because you're sick of seeing Cable/Sentinel/Magneto/Strider/Storm/Blackheart/Dr. Doom 99% of the time. KOFXII sounded like a huge disappointment (going off what I heard from a friend of mine who lives in Japan who is an even bigger KoF fan than me). I'm still holding out hope that Zero 3 (or Alpha 3 here in the States) makes it to XBL but I've been waiting on that for years now.

Like fighting games? It's awesome. Like Guilty Gear? It's awesome. The fighting mechanics are intriguing in design and take some getting used to, but any fighting game fan would find it hard not enjoy this game. Add in the fact that they have in place a system that makes 90% of your online matches LAG FREE, and you have nothing short of a miracle as far as current gen fighting games go.

I myself can't get enough of fighting games: Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Capcom vs. (_____), Samurai Shodown, Guilty Gear, Fighting Vipers, Mortal Kombat.....I could go on and on. I love them all. And next to Street Fighter IV, BlazBlue is one of the best to ever come out.

Jerk, everything that the guy above me just said is basically what you want to consider with this game. It is a VERY "busy" fighting system in place. It isn't as fast paced as GG or MvC2. But the balancing, character design, moves, finishers, environments, and music are all excellently tied together. If you take the time to learn the mechanics of each fighter and find the one(s) that suit your playstyle, best, I think you'll find a lot of enjoyment in the game.

The flipside is, of course, going online could be devastating in the sense the hardest of core people who play this game could destroy you in 5 secs with what you would consider the worst character in the game.....

Thanks for the thoughts, guys!

I secretly want to be really into fighters, but I'm so bad at them usually that it's a huge barrier to entry when I start playing online. I guess I've kind of been trying to find one that fits my skill level, you know? This game sounds pretty hardcore, but perhaps the slower pace would suit me. I might pick this version up when it drops. I do have a fight stick collecting dust, after all.

If you're looking to break into online fighters, HD Remix is your game...the balance in the game is phenomenal. It has basically been balanced by pros and high caliber SF players. Very easy to get into.

My problem with BB is that I can't find a character I like 100%, especially in regards of being user friendly. In SF you can always start out with a Shoto or a charge character (Blanka, Honda, Guile) and usually do decent damage no matter who you're playing against. Same with KoF (Iori/Kyo/Shingo and Ralf/Clark/Leona respectively). BB I just can't find a good noob character to get into the game with. I've tried several characters that are supposedly good beginner characters (Ragna is one of the most mentioned ones I see) and I just don't really care for their play style.

I would definitely RENT BB if you can before you buy it. I'm not saying "only the hardcore need apply", but I don't think it's very noob friendly either.

Aside from her having headgear and long boots, I don't see a resemblance. I mean, where are the dual triple vulcans?

It's just mu-12 (as in mew). It's a cyborg, so they gave it a mathy sounding name, much like lambda-11, which you either didn't notice or have no problem with even though it's the same thing.

From what I've read, Mu-12 has been identified as the true form of Noel. So basically we have her human form and her true android form. How interesting this will be.

The story from the first left me with so many questions. Plus it was rather hard to follow. It was still a great game though and hope this one answers most to all of my questions. BlazBlue is a must buy, to me at least.

The Japanese katakana that accompanies the character art says Myuu.to(u)erufu which obviously stands for Myu 12. However, it also looks like Mute Elf. I'm sorry if I did not make it clear that I was being silly. From now on I will abide by the international standards for internet commentary and include a ;) or j/k or lol in my postings.
