That seems to be bad news.

That's all I have to say about that.

Not a big surprise with no major new titles released, and the tendency of players to pick up most J- and SRPGs right at launch...

They should go multiplatform for their releases. It's not like they couldn't reproduce their art style because of technological limits. In other words: where's Disgaea 3 for the Wii?

Still totally sad that their profits are way down-- I don't expect that they'll go under, as even 2.5% still means that they're making a profit, albet a very small one.

I completely intend on getting Badman 2, though. Not too sure on Sakura Wars, but if they bring over Classic Dungeon and Absolute Hero Modding Project, they're both going to be immediate buys.

Also, Disgaea Infinite, but that's just a given.

Though something I've heard at least is that part of this loss came from Last Rebellion-- their attempt at PS3 3D wasn't all that hot, from what I could tell, and the game itself lacked NIS's individual flair and style that tends to set it apart visually from other games (the person I heard about this from noted the game looked very generic). But... I guess that isn't all that surprising. Something tells me that NIS isn't all that good at 3D modeling. After so much time working with sprites and keeping 3D to backrounds and maps, you can't expect them to be able to capture their feeling with 3D character models, huh?

Something tells me though that I might still end up getting the game, especially with this news.

I bought a good deal from them in 2009...

Prinny: Can I really be the Hero?
Disgaea 3 (had to wait until 2009 because my ownership of PS3 just happened)
Phantom Brave (Wii)
Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days
Badman

Going to buy:
Sakura Wars (Wii)
Badman "2" (the UMD, it's $9.99 more than DL)

Looking closely at:
Disgaea infinite

I love their games, but I have to admit I'd feel a bit better buying the latest stuff if they actually had something anywhere close to HD sprites. I gotta wonder how many people were put off by Disgaea 3 because of the ps2 quality.

Course, a massive profit drop like this isn't likely to give them the funds to realize this shortcoming either.

I was so pissed when I saw an ad for "Sakura Wars" and it wasn't the actual Sakura Wars I've wanted to play since the Saturn days. It's karma for stealing that title.

Oh, I guess it's a new one in the series? lol I just looked it up. Good shit to them then. I wish someone would release the old ones though

I can't help but imagine them as the gaming equivalent of the stride gum advertising. Making a product people can play or chew forever means they don't need to buy more!

I'm helping out! I've had Sakura Wars' special direct-from-NISA edition preordered for a while.

I absolutely love their games (I especially loved Prinny last year) ... but they need to evolve a little on the visual dept. if they wish to stand up to the competition.
