I don't think Conviction and Future Soldier will push sales of Double Agent and GRAW, seeing as they really aren't on the market anymore.

Sounds like the marketing plan for movies....which doesn't make better movies.

Why is the answer to so many failing problems to increase the amount of it we have? National deficit in the trillions? Increase spending!

Gaming market not really working out too well with so many franchises? Make more games!

I am much more likely to buy more games if fewer were released and those fewer were of better quality and originality.

So wait, according to Mr. Guillemot, the solution to "Franchise fatigue" is doing the very thing that causes it??

Brilliant.

Well this is a brilliant strategy. The thing that makes the Marios, God of Wars, and Halos of the world sell is that they don't come out every six months. Well, that and quality.

And he expects me to time my gaming budget to his company's releases? That isn't quite how it works, I'm afraid. The fact is there are too many games right now for me to enjoy. I have to cherry pick which games I buy because I simply can't afford all that I want. Ubisoft is mistaken if they think most people have the money to keep buying into franchises time and time again, especially if their release cycle is shortened.

Another iteration of the Cel-shaded PoP with a near naked Elika will make me "Increase & Cum out more often" :P

Why worry? Money money money! I actually just wrote about this, albeit in a more general sense: http://ditchingotis.com/front-page/2010/1/23/brand-exhaustion-foreboding-a-future-fraught-with-peril.html

Indeed, I'm all for driver if we can forget that last Driv3r game with the getting out of your car thing... The first driver was brilliant, one of my favourite PC/PS1 games of all time. If they can replicate that, with the awesome replays and great police chases... I'm in.

Add me to the list of people who thought the first Driver game was great.

For those of you out there that missed it, the first Driver was focussed on driving only and had great driving physics, great car chases, and allowed you to record movies which you could later edit for the best camera angles. Most missions felt like an 80's car chase movie complete with bystanders who always barely got out of the way.

All of this freshness and originality got thrown out the window so the devs could turn it into a lame GTA penis envy franchise.
