Is going prone that big of a deal? Most people play Halo just fine without it...

Not really, the maps are so huge and sometimes covered in foliage so it's easy for a sniper to stay hidden without being prone.

Someone please tell me why you're complaining about extra content for a game that may or may not have been ready when they started shipping disks? Especially before you guys even know if it will cost anything, this is simply a very good strategy to get people to buy the game new.

Even if that's the case then it's sloppiness, not generosity as they're presenting it.

Sloppiness? What's so sloppy? They've spent hundreds of hours on making a (I'm guessing) quality game, and because they want to provide us with something they couldn't quite fit in, you call them sloppy? I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that this day-one DLC will either be free, or not all too important to the game overall...or maybe even both. Calling them sloppy for trying to get the best sells while providing us with some extra content is ignorant.

Considering they haven't announced a price for the content or what it includes i'm amazed that so many people are crying as if their diapers need to be changed. Did any of you guys get ME2 most of that stuff was given to you if you pre ordered the game at someplace special but really wasn't a game changer what so ever. Let's wait for the details before throwing temper tantrums. also, I don't think many of you guys understand really how much money publishers lose out to used sales.. instead of increasing the games price or including some ridiculous drm feature I sincerely think EA is doing good by trying to meet the consumer half way.

Agreed with Brian. If BFBC2 is half the game its multiplayer demo is, I'll gladly support EA and DICE at release, and people bitching about things they don't even yet have info on is part of what's wrong with the world today...too many knee-jerk reactionists out there.

Same old argument

The truth is companies want your money and will beg, steal and borrow to get it.

If your dumb enough to put your money down on day one DLC then you deserve everything you get...

Probably some horse armour...

I know, right! Since it'll totally cost like 50 dollars!

It's going to be free, like EA's other games. Grow up and get over it.

umm we do have some information.. that fact all their games in the last 2 years have had a heavy pile of DLC to get every dollar they can..

i still remember by buddy saying dragon age had DLC on day 1 that made your character OP, and the other DLC felt like it was ripped out of the game at the last second and slapped 5 bucks on...

im liking the DLC on dante's inferno, pay for orbs and make get a ton of abilities right off the bat..

i never picked up the sabotuer, but appearntly there is even DLC in there for nudity..

thats the kind of information we have.. EA is basicly "turning tricks" for an extra buck

I'm sorry, I really can't understand why anyone would continue to play MW2 over this...I'm not trying to be an ass, but honestly...it's unbalanced, the spawn-points are terrible, the community is incredibally bad, and the exploitations like boosting is unbearable. This is coming from a guy who thinks Call Of Duty 4 was the best shooter this generation...so far.

Well, 3 out of 4 of your complaints are your opinion. The only one that is really fact is the boosting. However, I usually just play TDM only and with friends, so boosting is pretty much non-existent there.

Yes, the glitches (Javelin, Care Package, etc) have been annoying, but they are fixing them.

Well, Matt, I'd say they are more fact than opinion.

It IS unbalanced. Killstreak rewards see to that. I've always said that the reward for doing well is doing well, not getting a super weapon that helps you get farther ahead.

Spawn points are crap. There's no reason that I should be spawning underneath a Pavelow three times in a row while it is just floating there, mowing down the entire team multiple times. It happens a lot, especially on Favela.

Community? Eh, it's the Xbox Live community; Jerks, competitive players, whiners, screamers, racists, bigots, casual players. It's a mix of everyone.

Boosting is the fault of Infinity Ward. I don't understand why there is so much area around the map that is essentially useless to anyone who isn't boosting. Maps should be enclosed and each area should have a specific purpose. If a part of the map can be avoided completely and not change how the game plays, it should be removed.

I play MW2, it's fun with friends, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't get frustrated with it a lot.

I can see EA, knowing how people eat up these kind of games and wanna win, offering better vehicles, weapons, and abilities as DLC. If that's the case, that would essentially kill the MP since it wouldn't be on a level playing field anymore.........unless you got da MONAY!!!!

Hopefully it's just something like "automatically go up 10 levels in MP", and not extra weapons.

I've actually already bought BC2. Someone at Barnes and Noble messed up and was selling the PC standard version for only $20, sold by GameStop. I got it while it was in stock, and I haven't received an email about there being an error, so yippee!

To clarify my earlier statement, I wasn't just referring to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 when I referred to Day One DLC being a bad idea; nor did I mean to imply that I assumed that game's Day One DLC would come with a fee. I simply meant to say that such a concept is becoming a growing and troubling industry trend.

Welcome back to the old EA Games ladies and gentlemen. Larry Probst, former CEO who ran quality control at EA into the ground along with the board of directors and shareholders have forced Riccitiello's hand and now we're back on track to the same level of bullshit we had three years ago.

Is it sad to say I'd rather buy an Activison product now?

So apparently no one has been buying Dr. Pepper lately? I drink the stuff anyway, but I've got about 10 bottle caps that I can use for some type of DLC with BC2. I don't think they've ever said what it is, but there are other ways to get DLC besides paying through XBL or PSN for it.
I'd much prefer some of the DLC to be connected to the single player than multi-player. Let me get an upgraded gun, scope or something that will give me an edge on the hardest setting.

The only problem with DLC to prevent used sales, it also hinders my ability to Gamefly it. At least I am planning on buying this anyway so it won't impact me.

Using Gamefly to play the game doesn't bring the developers any more cash than a game that is bought used. Developers are not going to work towards making things easier/cheaper for people who use methods to play their game that doesn't provide them with any income.

If you're buying new, developers like you
If you buy used or rent, developers need something to actually make money on your playing of their game.

How is it that people are still "shocked" about whenever they hear someone doing Day 1 DLC (especially EA). Be pissed or not I'm amazed that people find this to be some new trend when it's been happening for the past few years.

I would assume their day 1 DLC is going to be free with the retail copy as they have been doing this a ton as of the past couple of years.

After that? Well BF2 already had DLC so I assume they will have some for BC2 as well. Nothing new nor surprising there. Certainly nothing to get worked up over.

Also historically battlefield DLC has just been map packs, I'm not sure why people think that it's going to be more than that.

You know how I can tell more and more gamers are female?

More and more nagging posts/comments/replies on gaming sites.

I'm not a penny pincher so I am all for DLC. If you support the game then don't buy it. If you do support the game then buy the DLC. It is as simple as that. If the little amount of money that DLC costs is going to break your bank account then put down the controller and go ask your boss for some more hours.

And stop going on and on about how this isn't about money, its about principle. Developers and publishers have been cutting content from games long before the birth of DLC. Not everything makes it to the final product and DLC gives fans the option to expand the original game.

It's not the people here that hate the used game business, It's the people in the industry that don't like the used game business. It hurts their profit.

Most of the people here love it because they can be cheap and complain about paying for anything. Like DLC.

I hope a time will come when people on the internet stop bitching for the sake of bitching.

There is literally nothing to complain about yet, and even if this DLC isn't free, which it probably will be, who cares? Don't buy it. I don't understand why people have to make any more of it than that.

I just hope it doesn't separate the player base, like what Halo 3 has done - as an example, I can't play on more than half of the playlists because they require one damn map pack that I don't have.

I just don't want to have to pay to play with the majority..
