Die Die Die Die Die

That was the theme on the NES right?

THPS2 was so awesome. It was one of the first games to have a great soundtrack of licensed music too.

Let's see what I can remember...
Bring the Noise - Anthrax/Public Enemy
When Worlds Collide - Powerman 5000
Cyclone - Dub Pistols
...I think that's all I can remember (it's been how long? a decade?). But, yeah, at the time that was the most bitchin'est ST ever.

Hivemind

Every single time I hear those songs, I go back in time to THPS2, and reminisce for a while.

It's kind of sad, too me.

It's a great idea, but just so poorly executed...

I don't think it even has the merit of being a good idea - which is a truer, yet less PR friendly way of saying it than "we didn't optimise the software".

So, it wasn't tested and it wasn't complete when it was sold.

I don't want to discount a game just because it has peripherals. I liked a few of the Guitar Heroes, and a couple of the Rock Bands. I've also been throwing a *lot* of time into DJ Hero recently. Sure, Activision has been trying their best to beat the Guitar Hero franchise into the ground, but that doesn't mean all peripheral-based games are bad.

Oh, but Ride sucks. That's not my point. :-)

*In case anyone remembers my comments about not liking and not wanting to support Activision, I haven't bought a new game from them since COD4. DJ Hero was $60 with turntables on craigslist.

Unless it's just on a quarter pipe. Maybe next the game will grind it's way into the hearts of gamers around the world?

Well a lot of people also liked the game Skate.

All the kids I knew who were at least partially into skating just started doing other things later on. They got more into music, bowling, or just other types of games.

Then again, it doesn't help that the Tony Hawk series of games have gone downhill a lot. I remember being disappointed a bit after getting Underground.

I still see people in my area riding skateboards though. Not often, but sometimes it looks like they are riding them home after school.

im pretty sure they sold like 120,000 units didn't they? or some absurdly high number for a 120 game.

in otherwords, there is no way that they did not make a profit on this, and therefore they need to whore it out.

W-T-F? They just don't get it. (Head shaking, facepalming) They just don't want to make money.

Activision, to make money again on TH, get head out of ass, and do this:

Ultimate Tony Hawk
- Includes all levels from previous games
- HD makeover
- Some new levels, DLC levels
- Level editor (Share and download levels online)
- Online multiplayer
- As many songs as is possible from all previous games
- As many regular and secret skaters as possible from previous games
- Video editor (always recording in background), upload to YouTube
- Day/night cycles, weather effects
- Persistent online world (when connected, see and interact with other online players in same area)
- Ragdoll physics and new objects scattered around environment with appropriate (read: realistic) physics
- Trophies/Achievements
- 4 player split-screen locally
- RoboModo has not proven themselves to be up to the task. Find a better developer for the future, but grab some NeverSoft team members to assist with this title
- And maybe throw in compatibility with that abomination of a skateboard peripheral (turned off by default)

Since this is a guaranteed hit, use it to build from for the next Tony Hawk game (new engine, at least 2 years in development, increase realism, tone down crazy circus tricks, use Skate success as a guide not a template, and gasp... new ideas!)
