I'd agree if I already had all the consoles, but I need a PS3. So I'm hoping for a PS3 bundle with Heavy Rain or GW3 or maybe MAG.

I'd understand if you saved some value from purchasing these bundles. But an Elite + Game + Controller is running the same price. You could probably obtain it all cheaper through deals too.

Honestly, if I saw someone buying a FFXIII Xbox 360 console I'd choke. One thing if you already have one, but it feels wrong not packaged with PS3.

And people used to complain that a $400 console was expensive (PS3). This doesn't even include integrated WiFi, Blu-ray, Play&Charge. Instead you have a 2nd controller and an extra 130GB.

Sony better do a FFXIII PS3 here in the States.

These 'bundles' feel stupid without a custom console, however.

And that's a good point made by that Slowtaku article: Why are they making a twin controller bundle for a SINGLE PLAYER game?

If you were picking that particular bundle, it would seem that way.

Why not leave out the extra controller and throw in an HDMI cable, or a Play and Charge kit, or even the Wireless Adapter?

The cable and play and charge kit wouldn't have the same value. A wireless adapter would be a good deal, but I'd imagine that more people need a second controller than need the wireless adapter.

If I want to get an HDMI cable, I have to order it, or pay an outrageous premium on a retail one. I can get a controller anywhere.

uhhh I've got $4 cables from MonoPrice on numerous items....I have no issues with the quality at all, when I worked @Sears as an Electronics salesmen I even hooked up $100 monster cables & then some $30 RCA ones....on identical TVs....NO DIFFERENCE!!

Where the difference comes is when you bend the cables over and over cause the main components to bend and distort the signal. if you don't bend your cheap cables you will be fine

He's typically right. The average $2 cable is unshielded, or isn't HDMI 1.3 (not that the 360 supports that), or just isn't going to be reliable.

My plasma was far from happy with cheap cables. Not saying you need to go spend a fortune on monster cables. But cheap end HDMI cables are terrible on quality displays.

"a $2 HDMI cable is junk."

No. Monoprice sells very cheap cables that work great and have very good build quality. HDMI is a digital signal and isn't subject to the same depredation from interference as an analog signal. For the vast majority of people a $2 cable will work identically to a $100 cable. You only have to worry about the quality of the cable for long runs and even then just spending more isn't any sort of guarantee.

I base my judgement from experience. As I said, you do not need expensive cables. But I could see a fine difference from a $5 cable I purchased verses my $30 cable.

Placebo is likely all you saw. Digital signals don't degrade that way. There's not going to be any "fine" difference. If you're getting signal loss through HDMI you'll see white "sparkles" or macroblocking.

Placebo, right..

I am sorry. I will not say the average person MUST buy more pricey cables. In my experience, with my TV and hardware set ups, the difference was well worth the money spent.

You guys are free to buy what you want, but you're wrong about the quality. Digital works or it doesn't, the data gets there or it doesn't. It doesn't degrade the same way as analog. So if buy a $100 HDMI cable for a 6ft run you're not getting better video or audio than someone with a $5 Monoprice cable. This is fact, not opinion.

I dont see either of these games as "Console sellers" so I find that kind of strange....with MW2 I could understand that bundle tho....

They might as well just go ahead and make the 250GB model an actual regular item...and sell it for $349....$399 SKUs are sooooooooooo last summer

Hey, 399 gives you 'flexibility'.

Or something like that...

If they expected me to pay 399, it better have HD cables like the last Xbox I paid 399 for. Since it doesn't, it's inferior.

I always thought they should pack absolutely no cables.

to me it seems so wasteful, if they pack hdmi the component and composite people will not use them

if the pack component or or composite, the hdmi people will not use them. either way it's a lot of cables that are probably just getting thrown out.

That'd work, Space, if Microsoft wouldn't charge 50 for the cables. Or if they had direct Component/Composite out jacks, but that'd be kinda tacky, don't you think?

well here's my thing....sure I can buy any cable I want later....but with the Elite coming with HDMI & component it really helped me out...because my TV only had 2 HDMI ports on it and my PS3 & Home Theater system took up both of those....so at the very LEAST they should include component as those cost more since they are proprietary....

Oh, but hey, our savior Lar-bear said that this was going to be a limited of time offer through the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 bundle and they were not going to sell it stand-alone or with any other bundles... oh, so what happened here other than out right lying?!?

I am just so confused as an avid consumer of your reasonably price hard-drives and other memory accessories such as your 64MB Memory Unit.

Please clear all this confusion so I can invest in your great products. I almost feel like I am stealing them from Microsoft at times. Keep up the great work guys!

Now I would have bought the FF ps3 edition, the one Japan got, if it hit the US. I just cant picture myself buying a whole new system, that looks just like the one I have now, that doest even come with anything FF like besides the game. No art book, no figures, just the game. I'll stick with the $60 game.

I thought the 360 version already was a bundle... what with its 3 discs. Zing!

Just kidding, but seriously... I'm with jph89. I don't own a 360, but looking at this bundle, it seems pretty useless due to the fact that its not necessarily any type of special edition system, like the PS3 in Japan - something I'd jump on even though I already own a PS3.

I've been checking day in and day out for confirmation of a CE/LE and haven't seen any indication that Square-Enix intends to release one here so, I hope that you are right and I am wrong, my friend.

I'm completely understanding of it being released for both ps3 and 360, should a collector's edition get released. Also, a NA bundle for 360 doesn't sound "equal" to me. What does ps3 get?

One concern might be knowing that the CE for FFXII didn't sell very quickly (or well?) I know that a short while after it was released they were selling CE's of FFXII at discounted prices where I am just to get rid of the things, there were so many.
