Luxoflux did Transformers? Not the new one...I thought High Moon did it.

Anyways, good luck to everyone and I hope they all bounce back soon.

Well looks like the Guitar Hero franchise is taking it's last breaths...man I remember when I first got 2 and played into the wee hours of the morning trying to pass crazy on you on medium. It was one of the most beloved franchises...then Activision whored it in the same fashion as Tony Hawk :(

Two great franchises I grew up with...dead

Man, I used to love Guitar Hero 2. But I just couldn't get into three, and then all those stupid band-centered games came out and I just gave up on the franchise. I may pick up Guitar Hero: Metallica, but that's just because I'm a Metallica fan.

@ Ben

Yea some of the Guitar Heroes were really well done, and if I assume you were talking about GH: Metallica then I'm really in for a real treat.

I really wish Activision would pull an EA and stop being greedy and go to being somewhat greedy but still being about the quality. Guitar Hero used to be fun, but Rockband has replaced it for me. I just hope Harmonix doesn't whore out that franchise.

But to get profits means you got no negatives. They paid all their bills and then earned more money.

So this means no more Vigilante 8 games? Sad to see Luxoflux get shutdown they did great with VG8 series on PS1/Dreamcast/N64. Glad to see the Guitar Hero team get eliminated they have whored out the series with too many games coming out year after year. I loved the first two GH games on PS2 but after GH3 they just milked the series for all its worth. I read VIcious Visions will take over the GH franchise from now on. Sad to see Radical Entertainment get reduced I loved Prototype might buy it just to support them when it drops lower.

Huh? Why does Activision have to lay people off? Hasn't Modern Warefare sold over 100 trillion copies?

Moreover, does the Activision CEO make the combined salaries of everyone who got layed off, in a week? Can someone please explain why this is necessary?

It's the same story from every company laying people off "Oh, I'm sorry, we can't afford to pay both you AND let our CEO's retain their billion dollar bonuses, so you're outta here." It's not a benefit to humanity.. Overthrow the system.

They'd have good reason to. They busted their asses, saw Activision record a massive profit, and still got shitcanned. They don't deserve what happened to them.

Apparently Red Octane is getting shut down, and most of Neversoft is also getting laid off. Also, GH6 will be Neversoft's last Guitar Hero game.

Did Prototype do so poorly? It was a bit repetitive, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.. A real shame for the Radical folks. :(
