Our beloved sister site, Big Download, reports that Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter has been slightly delayed to April -- and, frankly, if you can't trust your own sister, who can you trust? (That's on PC, mind you. No word on the 360 port's timing.) BD was also told that a deathmatch and dedicated servers update for the first game would arrive soon and that The Second Encounter would ship with both of those features.
We're happy for the tidbits, but we can't figure out why Devolver Digital would give all that cool, manly news to our dumb little sister. She still plays with My Little Ponies and Polly Pocket. What does she know about a game where dudes have bombs for hands?

Haven't played the HD version of the first one that much. It looked a bit better but felt very outdated

Big Donwload is almost as unloved as Joystiq Japan.
Almost.
Almost.

I comment there occasionally. But only a few others do and it gets awkward real fast.

I just bought the "First Encounter" last night, so this delay gives me time to get through it. I finally decided to try the demo level and it was just like I remembered it from 2001, except with a more polished look. I'm on a nostalgia kick so I couldn't pass it up.

Is anyone really even anticipating this? The last one was the most pointless remake ever.

I think it is perfect. I bought it day 1 and had the SSHD webpage clipped to my dashboard so I could see any changes instantly. Then again, I also played it to death on the PC and got so good at it I could finish both TFE and TSE on Serious without letting my health get below 25 or something. The 360 version is much harder, and I can only survive The Great Pyramid on Hard. Sucks.

Nice to see that's been corrected since last time.
I can't wait for this. All I've played is SSHD since it came out, and I'm currently going through on Serious to get some achievements.
The music from The Great Cathedral on TSE is like the soundtrack to my childhood.
Why does March have to get in the way? Stupid March. Everyone's least favourite month.

I like how whenever there's an update on the First Encounter, an image from the Second is used, and whenever there's an update on the Second, and image from the First is used.
