I think Wizards owns RoboRally and HeroScape, both of which would be awesome to see on XBLA/PSN.

I also loved the Earthquake card game when I was younger, probably still have the deck. Would love a $5 XBLA edition.

I hope they spend time speeding the game up and enabling online co-op play. Oh and restoring the rules back the way they should be, no more of this dividing damage crap. I don't care if that's how they changed the rules, I should be able to go old school.

And for pete's sake, let me design my own deck

Speeding the game up would be horrible. It would encourage abusing the hell out of Instants, as well as greatly favor the active player's decisions in combat. This would basically further screw the more defensively designed decks.

Restoring the old rules is likewise a horrible idea for reasons I shouldn't have to explain.

WiNG - No, please explain to me why my hypnotic specter can only attack the guy (and remove a card) from the play directly across from me ONLY.

Wizards of the Coast did not renew their star wars licence. Their current licence expires May of this year.

I like Magic but I would really love to see a DnD game using the newest 4E ruleset. It lends itself nicely to a strategy game like FF Tactics.

Hell even if they did renew their Star Wars license they STILL don't own the video game rights to it. Noob journalist, hell next Joystiq will say Wizards owns the rights to all the movies too.

Right, because there's just NO way that Wizards of the Coast could work out a lucrative Star Wars publishing deal with LucasArts. That kind of thing is absolutely unheard of.

Seriously.

Also, I would love to see them put a Magic game on the DS.

Wizards of the Coast, doesn't own the rights to Star Wars video games anyway, even the rights to MMO/ Regular games is distributed between different people. Hell next Joystiq might say Wizards should LET someone make a movie about Star Wars.

Stop being a prat and learn how to properly interpret Joystiqian editor subtext.

There's no reason to get in a hissyfit over very slight inaccuracies that have zero negative repercussions (aside from raising the blood pressure of a few undersexed krellboynes).

But Dungeons and Dragons already has a videogame: it's called Neverwinter Nights. And Neverwinter Nights 2. Plus all of the extra campaigns and expansions. With a game that interactive, I wouldn't want a game similar to Magic.

i would love to see a 4E version of D&D come to a console system... something similar in game play to KOTOR or KOTOR 2, both used the 3.5 rules of Starwars, and as for this magic game ..... if you want to play the best magic video game, EVER, try looking for " Magic the gathering: the Shandalar " it was and still is the best magic game EVER. if they want to make a hit, just make a "return to shandalar" game, update the graphics and cards... leave the rest of the game play as is.

I'm no expert, but KotOR used the d20 D&D ruleset.

Hell I'd love just to have the ability to remove base cards out of the decks or adjust the amount of lands in the decks.

Oh yeah and 2-Headed Giant playable by 4 people on 4 different consoles would also be a nice addition to have.

This is interesting as last night was the first time I played Duels of the Plains Walkers. In fact, it was the first time I've played Magic the Gathering and thought the game did a good job of teaching me how to play.

With that said, I was a bit surprised by the lack of quality control in the XBLA demo that I played. The music was so bad and generic I had to turn it off in the options. The sound effects were astonishingly bad (sounded like they used a sound effects CD bought off Ebay - especially the sound that plays when you win a match) and in numerous places the text is nearly unreadable. I'm playing on a 42" HD tv and was sitting very close but the black text on a gray/transparent background was very very hard to read. While sound & music are preferential I'm surprised that the unreadable text made it through QA.

Overall, it ended up feeling a bit of a rushed and thrown together product so this makes me a bit worried that this is who is making Risk (really looking forward to that). In fact, beyond the issues mentioned, I found the game play a bit over-complicated (I think the Settlers of Catan people did a much better translation of gameplay from board to videogame). In any case, it wasn't horrible but I hope that the QA goes up with their next games.

D20 is also called 3.5 or 3.0, it is a 3rd generation D&D rule set that uses feats and an AC rather than a thaco.
