I think this is more of a deal between Capcom and Epic Games. They are fans of each others work, so doing a cross-over seems feasible. They would have obviously needed Microsoft to sign off on it as it is a MS IP. I don't think Microsoft minded as it gave the 360 version a little exclusive that can't be found on the PC or PS3. Now, whether Capcom is planning something for the PS3 remains to be seen, but is looking doubtful now. It is getting very close to Lost Planet 2's release and have not heard anything that the PS3 version may be getting.

sure it's a gimmick, but it's actually kinda interesting. Uncharted 2 is getting various non-uncharted / PS3 franchise characters injected into it... and while I wouldn't pay for them, it's kind of neat to see player model options crossing games.
so... interesting? not really good or bad :)

2. It will break whatever immersion was being experienced.
Example: Blowing up some Akrid with fellow space-pirates? LOLNO It's just 'roid-raging Gears dropouts and that one guy who was supposed to die, but never died 500 Times.
