Yeah, but everyone plays the role of something in every game genre.

My point is Molyneux already said that he's taken out of the RPG elements of the game, this quote sounds more like a stretch to Fable fans who like it as an RPG.

Weapons that grow and change with you ...... yeah never seen that before ......*cough* Kings field PS1 *Cough*

That out of the way the fable series has yet to fail at delivering an entertaining experience so I'm sure this will continue on in the series previous footing.

Does the fact that I never heard of this game imply that it wasn't implemented very well?

YOU do speak for the rest of the world. No one knows that game, nor do we really care to at this point. Even if it's true, I doubt it's being handled the same way here.

There's always someone somewhere who needs to knock something.

Maybe you guys are too young to remember King's Field on the PS1, I think it was close to being a launch title if I remember correctly...

That said though; everything has been done before in one form or another, get over it. It doesn't change the fact that Fable 2 was an interesting game but not a great one, and I'm a bit hesitant about getting excited about this sequel yet.

Maybe if I hear him talking about fixing the gameplay elements that sucked in the 2nd one instead of just more of the fluff I could have done without I'll change my mind.

I'll back you, yes I've heard and played Kings Field for the PS1 hours of gameplay, a lot weapons, hard to beat, and a great playable map (well for its time). Actually more hours of gameplay then Fable 1 and 2 combined with better dungeons. Trust me there are great rpgs that you never played because of how quickly they turned games back then and games with low budgets didn't have great marketing.

Unless this game has more then 12+ hours to the main quest this game will stay at the bottom my list. *But the elements they are implementing are great*

Looks alright, as I loved Fable II. One thing concerns me however: "we had a stable code base from Fable II." Gotta say Fable II was one of the glitchiest games I'd seen.

I loved it as well but the glitches and slow downs really wore on me towards the end of the game. The really powerful spells bogged everything down, coop was even more hectic. The menus were also slow, they need to bring back the quick menus from the original.

As much as I enjoyed the first one and the DLC, I hope that they fixed those issues before moving on to these new features.

I really enjoyed the first two Fable games. I'm no doubt set to enjoy this one. However, I'm not looking forward to all the claims of awesomeness/greatness Petey Moldynuts is going to be spewing from now until release time. That guy is for sure his biggest fan.

Just think Mass Effect 2...Paragon and Renegade. I think the wings aren't really physical appendages but how the crowd/population perceives you. If your true nature is a really evil person...perhaps some people won't want to trade with you. Likewise, if your really good, the most evil people might want to kill you for the heck of it. Who knows? Just thought I would add my two cents :-p

Haha, I know I know. It's just ... aesthetically speaking, it kind of looks clunky? I liked the way the Mass Effects or the KOTORs or the earlier Fables implemented that good/bad change because it was happening a lot closer to your character (i.e. right on your face). The wings just look too ... Second Life-y mods for me.

Maybe, but it's good to have people like him in the industry. I'd take a bunch of his type over all those hipster geniuses who think they're reinventing something when all they do is regurgitate something.

In other words, he may pat himself on the back all the time, but he does mostly back it up with some solid entertainment... In my opinion, anyhow. lol

It's probably safe to translate all the PR-speak as: It'll be another mostly-decent western action-RPG with a bunch of bugs at launch. All the "deep, amazingly innovative means of interaction" will be an assortment of shallow means for bumping your good or evil alignment. You shall have an assortment of jaunty chapeaus, and at some point you will end up in a homosexual marriage. There will be a dog or child in your life, but they'll mostly get in the way of having fun. Wash, rinse, repeat, issue DLC.

I was hoping they'd get a bit deeper in terms of the fighting and the rpg aspects, but sounds like they want it to be 'accessible to people who aren't interested in that kind of thing'. I"ll still play it, though.

I just don't understand how people can watch this and say it "changed their minds" about the game, or how it looks like "the best one yet". To me it looks *exactly the same* as Fable II, with a couple of changes. It's like the Madden of RPGs.

The new extreme morph "system" is essentially an expression. That's it. I bet it will have little to do with anything, and is just another gimmick. I love how Lionhead/Molyneux touts afterthoughts as revolutions.

Don't get me wrong, I played both Fable games and thoroughly enjoyed them for what they were, but that's it. They're not revolutionary. They're not the end-all RPGs, they're fairly basic fare with some cool choices mixed in.

Back to my main point…I'd love to hear what about this five minute video truly swayed you, or convinced you that it's a truly worthy sequel.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say it's the Madden of RPGs, but I understand what you're saying. I'd agree in that while the last Fable wasn't revolutionary, it was certainly unique and not a copy/paste copycat of another game. I was already onboard with Fable III, I didn't need convincing. This was a pretty cool video and I'm a fan of Molyneaux anyway, but I don't see anyone saying 'oh now I'll get this'. I absolutely loved Fable II (haven't played the first) and even really liked the ending.

Two comments from this post. It's that kinda stuff I don't get. Nothing in this video came even close to giving me that kind of epiphany. It just seems like Fable 2.5 from this point. I look forward to seeing what else is in store for this game.

First and foremost, I love the fable games. Part 1 more than part two simply for the larger scale enemies (scorpions etc. in the gladiator arena). But when Fable 2 arrived without an option to change my characters skin color, It saddened me in that this character who was the embodiment of my choices was not able to truly look like me. Peter, you move me. But not always the right way.

I'm a bit hesitant about this game. I love the Fable games, but this one doesn't have all the RPG mechanics that I grew to love about the game. Seriously, no experience orbs?! That's been a Fable mecahnic from the get go and I just won't feel like I'm playing a Fable RPG if I can't gain experience and allocate that to whatever skill I want to improve. This game is sounding like a way to garner a wider audience and make it more of "Kingdom Tycoon."

I like how games this year are trying to reinvent themselves as best as possible, can't wait to see how they all turn out this year.

Im skeptical on this whole idea of morphing though. If you do bad things your sword drips with blood yes yes, but is it simply a graphical gimmick? Every time your weapon "morphs" is its change in performance noticable?

guess ill just have to follow this.

p.s. those wings look fugly

This looks like it will be a lot of fun.
The weapon idea both confuses and excites me.
I mean... the game needs loot, so what each sword has a lvl cap and you will have nice evil or nice looking sword but then a not so cool looking sword would drop with better stats then your current sword you've been carrying through half the game drops? start the process over again?
Well besides the questions which the video has brought to my mind, I am currently sold on the concept.

I'm excited, finally a morph system that actually DOES something!

And I remember about half-way through Fable II seeing a few images online thinking we can actually get wings, and then finding out it was just an illusion! I like the morphing weapons and wings idea.

Also, doing something with your wife or girlfriend other than showing up once in a while to get it on, and then leave again, brings a new avenue of options. I can't wait to try out the mechanics of being seen around town holding hands or kissing someone ELSE lol
