We might normally start a post on a regional game launch event (or events, in this case) by questioning if you live in or around the geographic location in question (San Francisco), but with a game like Final Fantasy XIII, we're not entirely sure if that kinda thing matters -- we hear that FF fans can be a bit ... dedicated. That said, Square Enix is holding two separate parties celebrating the March 9 release of its next in the Final Fantasy series.
Both are limited to Square Enix Members, with the launch party on the evening of March 8 limited even further to just 50 Bronze (and up) Members while the day event is limited to "200 Members and their guests." In order to snag yourself an invite, you've gotta have one of those snazzy Square Enix Member IDs and enter the sweepstakes right here before February 23. After you hurriedly enter the contest, come right back here and check out the 20 new screenshots of FFXIII that we've dropped into a gallery below. We command you.

Ugh, please don't call San Francisco "San Fran". That is sooooo...nevermind, that was never cool. We SF natives cringe when we hear that.

holy shit. i'm graduating college this semester so i've been trying to shun gaming to focus on school and work but dammit they are making it really tough not to relapse. i haven't bought a game since R&CF:ACiT but these are two i have been waiting forever for. looks like i'm going to have to work gaming back into my schedule.

I'm willing to bet that these events will be heavily sponsored by Microsoft. Look at the NBA all star weekend, all the advertisements make it seem as if its a 360 exclusive, with no mention of PS3. SCEA really let it get away from them. I don't own a 360 but I'm considering pre ordering the bundle.

I just ordered it from Amazon for $49.99. It was $59.99 but I had a $10 discount from buying Mass Effect 2... Lately I am doing my game shopping in Amazon.

I was unaware of this program from Square-Enix, but I'm glad I had enough recent games to be eligible for the sweepstakes.

Nice, the doctored screens!
S-E sent out identical screens for 360 and PS3 versions of the game LOL.
THEY ONLY PHOTOSHOPPED THE BUTTONS!
classic =D

Can you blame them? The reports from the last showing in San Fran were that the PS3 and 360 versions were markedly different. With MS spending a lot of money marketing the game they would be pretty pissed if everyone knew that the 360 version was inferior. SE should not have released any screen comparisons.
