Coinciding with the info avalanche at X10, Bungie has released a new Halo: Reachvideo documentary (aka "ViDoc"). There's something for every Halo fan here: Spartan customization, new weapons, huge maps, new music, and plenty of human-on-alien warfare. A few things to look out for include a grenade launcher, stealth kills and a Spartan actually sprinting. You'll even get an un-textured peek at the huge battles Bungie demonstrated during X10. A full squad of marines, Spartans and 30 Covenant duking it out all at once? Yes, please.
Once you pick the video apart -- and we know you will -- be sure to post your OMG megaton discoveries in the comments. Once you're done doing that, go download the ViDoc from the Xbox Live Markeplace and watch it in HD.
I'm worried about how much they appear to be devoting to pomp and flash. They spent a lot of time talking about how much more "pretty" Reach will be, about how much more character development it will have, and what appears to be a significant increase in in-game "movies".
I want to PLAY a game, not watch it. I want the majority of my money to go towards that game allowing ME to do things, again, not be a bystander.
Games are not movies! We pay a freaking great deal more for games than movies because we want to be able to do thing, not sit there and be dragged along.
Well this looks utterly superb, which is great because ODST really underwhelmed me, to the point where I didn't even bother with a purchase after a rental.
So if they're rebuilding the engine, Drop-in Drop-out online co-op? Public co-op rather than private matches only? An absolute must on both counts. The DMR looks absolutely savage.
I have to say that I've never been a big Halo fan, but that shit looks sick. Hot damn thats something I'll have to get my hands on. Considering what they were showing was an Alpha build, I can only imagine what the final product will look like. Kudos to Bungie because what they just showed was pretty amazing.
As far as I can see, the graphics are fine. They just need to fill up the geometry a little bit more and make sure the AI is up to the usual Halo standard and we'll be good to go.
@stromm I'm not sure if you played the first Halo, but I knowexactly what he was talking about. The first time I played Halo CEthose area's were larger than life, and it was a whole new world. Seeing as how they were concentrated on MP the last 2 Halo's, it's refreshing that they have returned to the single player campaign.
I am not so excited about this game as I was for Halo 2 & 3.... Even Halo Wars had me more excited. This game Looks really good and .. well I dont know, after ODST..What a let down...
Ok bungie I promise you my money for the last time, but .... nah... never mind I'm done with Halo.
Halo can join the Following Series that I've complete and consider DONE:
Metal Gear Final Fantasy Zelda Castlevania Super Mario Bros. Metroid Halo.... Call Of Duty Series....
next up on the list will be: Gears of War Command & Conquer Lost Planet
yeah thats about it. I really dont feel to excited about halo Reach...
@The Sniper: No, I think he's just listing game franchises that don't need any more iterations to round out the series or cement their legacies. No one can be THAT stupid to dislike all those franchises.
I was semi-exited for this as I am a huge Halo Fan, but i wasn't as exited as I really overplayed halo 3. That bias made me hate to love the game. but this ViDoc has restored faith! I can't wait!!!
Ill be perfectly honest ive never cared for the multiplayer aspect of the Halo series despite spending a vast majority of my time playing online fps, but despite that I abesolutely LOVE the halo series, the story line and gameplay is second to none and I cant wait to pick this game up
