Patched Aliens vs. Predator demo hits the PlayStation Store

Will be worth it... took forever to find a match before, and when I couldn't find anyone I would do a 1v1 with my friend... atleast I found out how to switch species.

A patch for a pre-release demo lol - was bound to happen eventually!

Damn it - had the 'old' demo installed, but not played it yet, now I have to delete it, and re-download the thing...

haven't tried re-downloading but I get no message in the original demo

I just deleted my version of the demo, and i didn't get "Incompatible Version". BUT i found some other info from another site:

PlayStation 3 users have had a rough time with the AvP demo recently. Now, SEGA and Rebellion have announced that an updated version of the Aliens Vs Predator demo is looking to sort out the problems.

A new, updated version of the Aliens Vs Predator multiplayer demo is now available via the PS Store. The original demo, which was riddled with problems, will not be functioning any more.

The firm apologized to PS3 gamers regarding the issues.

SEGA Europe’s Gary Knight stated:

We are confident that the matchmaking issue has been fixed with this new demo and we will be monitoring community activity closely over the coming days to ensure that it has been fully resolved. We would like to thank the community for all of their valuable feedback and continued patience.

Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion clarified the reasoning behind the choice of a Deathmatch mode for the demo of the shooter.

We chose Deathmatch as the mode for the demo as it’s very familiar to all FPS gamers and minimizes restrictions on players while they are getting to grips with the controls of each of the three playable species. We have plenty of new modes in the game and players only have to wait a matter of days before they can play them when the game launches.
