Oh man, I actually laughed out loud at CAD. Who saw that coming?? If they don't win this week it'd be a shame.

Agreed. Very funny. I haven't been following Heavy Rain much but I knew about this part of it, and after reading the artist's comments, when he described "quicktime fistfights" I immediately thought of Shenmue. For those on here who are more accustomed to the style of the game, would it be wrong to expect a similar experience?

As most people that played it, I absolutely loved it. Of course, one of the unique things about the game was the ability to do mundane things like sit at home and look at toys or whatever. I'm going to be playing it regardless, but this sudden realization that I may have a contemporary dose of Shenmue just made my pants shorter.

*Sigh* While I hate to add to this already long ass chain of comments, I have a question. @Henchman 24 (or anyone in particular): How exactly were you able to link the video into that exact point? I'd like to know how.

Thing with CAD is, it's not for everyone. The jokes seem to be hit n' miss a lot of the time, and I think the comic is pretty bad all round, but this one was good. No denying that. I just think Tim should stick to gaming subject matter when it comes to a gaming comic, not the personal life of two guys, a girl and VG shop. (#1 Sitcom, here we come!)

Runner up should be Brawl imho

It actually wasn't bad for once. His comics are usually better when they ignore the regular characters and are just set in games.

Definitely gotta go with three panel soul. It works on multiple levels with the joke of "people in helmets cannot drink things well" and the good ol' "80% of all in-game decisions in most Bioware titles affect nothing."

The problem with CAD (Tim Buckley aside) is that it's mediocre when it comes to follow the storylines with the main characters (Ethan, Lucas etc.) but its collection of comics based on video games are pretty good. I laughed out loud at some in fact, and hope Tim can just scrap his characters and make it into a purely videogames-based webcomic gig.

And oh, are those stories I've read about Tim on some sites true?

We give way too much hate to CAD. And this is coming from a guy that honestly doesn't like it anymore.

Yes, there are very, very, very good reasons to hate it...and many, many, many issues both in art and joke style that have been commented time and time again in almost EVERY gaming area I've been frequenting. If you are a person who hates CAD, you most likely have a valid complaint for it, and if you LIKE CAD, then you probably overlook the apparent issues the comic has and just read it because, well, you enjoy it. Nothing wrong with that at all.
If people DO have a problem with that, then they really need to get a life, or at least get some perspective in their life. (yes, I know about some of the rumors of Tim Buckley himself, but this is about the comic, not the person. This isn't a Weekly Webcomic Artist Wrapup, silly.)

Another thing I think needs to be mentioned is, if the CAD strip DOES win, that isn't like the voters are saying "Yeah, this means the entire comic is awesome." It's like an argument saying that, because one Penny Arcade comic wasn't good, that means the entire comic is horrible. Both extreme sides of the spectrum. Beyond what people may think, every comic has that shiny gem...even if it's covered in what you would assume to be chocolate ice cream and find yourself disappointed when you look closer. Even moreso if your sense of smell isn't working and you taste it.
...
Yes, I ended with that. It's 3:36am and I want to end it weirdly.

Oh, the vote. BitF. I loves it so.

In Mass Effect 2 you can scan planets for minerals to use in upgrades. When you scan the planet, you get a little radar or whatever thing that indicates the quantities of elements, when you get a high enough reading or even whenever you feel like it, you shoot down a probe from the Normandy. The comic has the planet Pandora being scanned with a huge deposit of Unobtanium, when the probe is sent it lands in a fiery explosion destroying a settlement of Na'vi, the alien race from Avatar, whose planet was plundered by humans for Unobtanium
