Note that in the game, you can never die. Also note that, the further you get into the game, the scarier it gets. It starts out all nice and happy only to mislead you down a dark... dark path.

@ CaramelZappa ... No sales tax on the PSN? Then what's with that tax that I keep getting hit with when I buy stuff off of there directly?

It is sales tax people, it depends on your state. Some states tax PSN sales and some do not.

Oh, you must be in a state where they're based then. I've never been charged sales tax. It works similar to any online store, like newegg. If you're in California newegg will charge you tax, but if you're in Nevada they won't.

Zappa laws vary by state....some states force companies to pay taxes for online sales....others collect the tax at tax time when u report them.....which most people just don't do

OMG, that's brilliant. Unless... you use a credit card, in which they bill it to that specific card. So, the best idea is just to register your credit card somewhere in Oregon. Then drive over there and pick it up. Man, when I first read your comment I was so excited that I could avoid sales tax, alas there is no loop hole.

How the hell do u think I buy stuff from the American PSN then? Believe me, my credit card is Argentinian, and I registered it on a tax-free state...

My girlfriend loves Flower.
Maybe I'll buy her the new dynamic theme since she has already got the game.

You still have four more PS3s you can play it on. Sure, there's still a limit to it, but considering the stability of the PS3, I can't see how it's possible to, through regular use, go through 5 PS3s too easily.

Would you mind telling a fellow gamer as to what the premise of the game is?

Agreed. Also, I think everyone here seriously rapes the spirit of the "ratings" system. Downvoting is for trolls not for legitimate opinions.

Saying it's over rated isn't really much of an opinion.
He could've said, "I didn't like the game, but the visuals were at least well done." He could've said anything more constructive than that, but alas, he didn't.
Senseless criticism might as well be considered trolling. Constructive criticism on the other hand, is something I can defend.

No, people downvote you if they disagree with you. And obviously the majority disagree. The report button is for trolls...

I agree. I thought it was charming and beautiful, but that's where my praise stops. The sixaxis motion control is just awkward. The gameplay is simple, uninspired, and not rewarding. I don't understand why people compare it to snake. Yes, you grow your tail, but it's purely visual. You don't gain anything from it. It doesn't make the game more challenging as you try to avoid eating it. It just grows, for no reason, with no reward. The game is visually fantastic, but I think the gameplay is shallow to say the least.
I feel like gameplay should be a balance of challenge and reward. And I feel like Flower brought neither of those, which is why some have called it an "interactive screensaver" Personally, I think that term is too harsh, but the I believe the thought process behind it is very valid.

I like Flower. Granted, the game is simple and probably snake-based, but the simple beauty of the environments are both soothing and very good for meditating. I normally don't meditate on Buddhist mantras unless I'm at the temple but Flower somehow managed to convince me to meditate.

Happy Valentines Day and Happy Chinese/Lunar New Year to everyone who celebrates it. :D

I could see that I suppose. It doesn't do it for me though. The closest gam that brings me to "meditation" is Rez.

@CaramelZappa: Regarding the challenge/reward structure of Flower, I think you have to consider the aim of the game. It is specifically *not* meant to be difficult. thatgamecompany describes the game as a poem; reading a poem has very little challenge (well, depending on the type of poem), providing its reward in the form of the experience itself rather than in the sense of accomplishment from overcoming an obstacle. Flower emphasizes its meaning more than (you might even say at the cost of) its gameplay. Also worth considering: the game tries to bring its message to as broad an audience as possible; after all, if you don't finish the game, you don't "get" the poem. Thus, the barrier to entry is very low, minimizing "I'm doing poorly" frustration and maximizing accessibility. In the end, how you feel about the game depends on where your personal desire for balance between experience and gameplay lies.
