The whole reason games are different from other mediums is gameplay. Without gameplay, a game might as well be any other medium. So if Flower was really meant to be a poem, I feel it might have faired better with me if it was written down rather than presented as if it were a game.

If we're just going to say hey, lets use games as an art medium. (Something that isn't done enough) and I were to judge Flower purely on artistic merit, I'd have to say I didn't find it very compelling or interesting. Not saying it's bad, art is purely subjective, but it's not my cup of tea. And because art is purely subjective, and the "poem" aspect of flower seems to be the only part that has any merit, I really dislike how people who do not agree with the viewpoint of the masses being downvoted for not liking Flower. It does not have universal appeal, and people shouldn't be bashed for disagreeing on something so subjective.

I tried writing two long comments explaining why I didn't like it and the comment system ate'd it. That's why I said it was overrated. It never gave me an ah-ha moment or any zen like peace. I tried playing it for about an hour and never went back to it. There was nothing there that grabbed me into the world. One of the only psn games (I have a lot: over 60) I regretted buying. It was no more fun than that art game thing with the flying dog. I don't get it and there for I personally feel it's overrated. I'll take bur zombie burn and stardust everyday over flower.

Flow was better as a PC release when you had mouse/keyboard control. I absolutely hate the PS3 motion controls. It makes the game painful since you're frequently inverting the direction of your turn to compensate for upside down movement. It's just turns into a chore.

Flower is really nothing like flOw in terms of control and gameplay (flOw is still awesome.)

Buy flower. Now.

Don't me mislead. Flower is essentially flow in 3D. Yes, Flower has much better graphics and a different setting, but in essence they are the same. If you didn't like flow you're unlikely to like flower.
