is anyone excited for this game?

I mean I will most likely give it a try but it looks a lot like a better done "Alone in the Dark" to me....and I couldn't even bring myself to finish that game just for the easy trophies....

Easy trophies?

This is Xbox 360 only.

Maybe that's why you're against it.

Kotaku's recent hands-on mentioned how it had an Uncharted 2 level of polish.

If someone isn't looking forward to this, and for some inexcusable reasons based on poor assumptions (omg, it's Alone In The Dark Next-Gen 2!), it's their problem. No need to diss a great game because of lacking knowledge of said game.

Remedy is a great developer. Same Lake is a brilliant writer.

sorry....I haven't played any or Remedy's other games....so why would that have me? all I have to go off of is the few "impressions", videos, and screens.....and while they look good, I'm just not sold on this as a "must have" title....

I think he's a little out of touch. We don't quite have the broadband infrastructure here in America at least. And then look at greedy ISPs trying to cap it like Comcast with their 250gb month cap. It may seem like a lot now, but it'll get restrictive as more games and other content become download-only.

Can you blame gamers for still wanting discs where they can hold it, rent it, borrow it, lend it, etc, especially when the digital copy is usually the same price or even more than the physical copy? Can you blame them for buying a disc that cannot be taken away by the publisher/developer, lasts forever and is always accessible unlike digital goods which can be taken offline through DRM, server failures, etc?

Yes, the U.S has fallen far behind many other countries. And I don't buy the excuse that those countries are much smaller and dense than the U.S. Even our heavily populated and dense areas many times have inadequate service. And now usage caps given the rise of digital distribution? Not good at all.

I long for Japan and South Korea's internet or even Google's 1 gigabit internet their going to roll out to 50,000 to 500,000 lucky sons of bitches here. : D

Game companies will not stop using physical media for a long, long, LONG time. There is too much money to be had using CDs or DVDs. Because #1 People like having something they can hold. #2 Companies are too in love with their "Limited" and "Collector's" editions to stop selling physical copies.

Think I might have to buy a 360 for this game :-(

There I was hoping to just get it for PC like a normal person lol
But if any game looked worth getting a 360 for, it's this one
I'm a big lover of games heavy on the story and single-player experience this looks to tick both boxes.

That is Microsoft's plan, take away games from the PC, put them only on the Xbox to get PC gamers to buy the system. My brother really wanted to get Gears of War 2 for the PC but then caved in and bought it for the 360 but even then he stopped playing it after a couple of weeks and the 360 is back to collecting dust. If it was on PC, he'd still be playing it.

That's my sore point with Microsoft, I'm their fanboy and a PC fanboy, anti-Apple but I dislike their killing of PC gaming ever since the Xbox 1 came out. You have so many PC gamers using your Windows OS and you want to antagonize all of them? Why not merge them and your Xbox userbase to fight off Sony and Nintendo?

Yeah they want to turn every PC sale of the game into a 360 sale, I personally think I will wait til the 360 drops a bit lower.
Don't really care for bundles, I've seen tons of bundles with loads of games but I only want a select few games so I need the base console to be lower.

And yes, this is the reason I own a 360 (not the only reason, however). I love games with strong narrative, which is why I'm also excited for Heavy Rain. I won't compare the two, however, as it's stupid to do so since they're very different games. They both just have very strong narratives. And, of course, you can't go wrong with Sam Lake writing the story. The man's a genius.

With recent buzz from X10, Alan Wake is said to be as polished as physically possible, absolutely compelling in terms of its narrative, somewhat unique, and just a smooth and good playing experience. Consider Alan Wake a must-have AAA gaming experience.

Get ready for May, Joystiq! This one will blow our faces off.

Indeed. Just from exclusives that we know of, we have Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, Fable III, and Halo Reach.

Agreed 100%

As someone who froths at the mouth over ps exclusives, the two games I want more than anything this year are this and Conviction.

This guy seems like a bit of a jerk, he obviously wears his ego on his sleeve. He does however seem to have a legit passion for gaming, which a lot of dev pricks don't. But I guess you can have an ego when your game looks this good. Can't wait for this bad boy.
