No, no, seriously. Street Fighter IV, the game, is actually going to come to Apple's portable, with somewhat scaled-down models lifted directly from its console big brother. Each character in the game also has their complete moveset, which you'll pull off with customizable on-screen virtual stick and buttons. In addition to warming up in Dojo Mode, you'll also be able to play against a friend via Bluetooth.
Though Capcom's touting a large roster, all we know at this point is that it will include Ken and Ryu, as seen above. While we're curious about how Capcom will fill the ranks, what we really want to know is how they'll make it more enjoyable than it appears at first blush, which is not at all enjoyable.

This could work if you have a wii remote and fight stick via bluetooth.

I can't wait to see someone hack an arcade stick to work with the iPhone.
Srsly, virtual keys? Looks like a fail waiting to happen...

Given that button layout, I'm gonna make a couple guesses:
Impossible to Play Tier
-C. Viper
-Seth
-Akuma
I'm Just Gonna Spam Special Button Tier
-Zangief
-Ryu
Probably Still Top TIer
-Sagat

Hey Capcom, how about Megaman on the iPhone. Or something else that can actually work with the iPhone's "controller layout".

Did I miss an announcement for ports of other versions of SF4 or something?
It seems odd that the iPhone would be the fourth choice for a port of it.

Street Fighter IV?
No, no. It's Thumb Fighter IV because you WON'T BE ABLE TO SEE THE FIGHTERS.
Left thumb throws a fireball!
OOHA-OOHAAA-OOhaaaa..........
YOU WIN!
PERFECT!

I wonder how you can do ultra fast combos on a touchscreen... this will fail.

I remember the GBA ports of both Alpha 3 and Super Turbo controlling horribly and this is on a system with actual buttons! Well, only 4 of them, but still, at least you had a d-pad.
IV has some really unforgiving timings and some rather complex motions (minus all the stupid stuff like instant magic reversals on crossup, totally lack of meaty game and the weird input shortcuts) so in terms of execution it's on par with the above two titles.
That makes a port on a system with only touch controls something of an odd choice. It's obvious that nobody is going to take this game seriously and it's not going to be used in any competitive way but I also see this as being more frustrating than fun to play... they're going to have to seriously scale down the game to something that isn't even remotely execution heavy.

I'm laughing because there's no problem to downgrade a game to make it able for iPhone, but whe nit comes to Wii, definitely they won't do it because of graphics.
Seriously, WTF?!

"If they do it for the Wii, they'll just get a ton of Wii fanboys talkin online about how they want hardcore games and how they're waiting to dust off their Wii's. The game would come out and most of those fanboys will be all talk and not purchase the game. And I'm a Wii Fanboy myself and see this all the time in the message boards."
There are STILL Wii fanboys that want hardcore games? Wake up.
It's not so much that people say they want hardcore games on Wii and then don't buy them when released. It's more like the people who did want them just don't give a crap anymore, or ignore them because they are so few and far between. I really do not see why anyone would own only a Wii and say they liked hardcore games - most people who had hope for the Wii have moved onto the PS3 or 360.
If you have just a Wii and are into hardcore games you're in the wrong place. Nintendo have abandoned you.
