We frequently tried to find ways to keep ourselves occupied during the days we spent probing planets for precious, precious minerals in Mass Effect 2, but largely came up empty-handed. You can only scan Uranus so many times before it loses its comedic value, you know? If only we'd followed the cue of YouTube rap sensation Kabuto the Python, who spent his mining moments crafting rhymes and beats, then combining the two into a single package which we feel comfortable calling a rap song. Check the NSFW track after the jump.

I was irritated that I didn't find a way to off her during the game. She annoys me and I can't stand her voice :P In ME3, please let me launch her out of the Normandy as a probe, never to be seen again. Shutup about the Migrant Fleet already wouldja, lady.

No, it's still quite painful. My least favorite aspect of the game.

The probing was one of the few mis-steps in Mass Effect 2. Sure they had to do something about the boring exploration, but instead of taking out the monotonous part of going back and forth across the map they took out the fun part of driving around a tank on just about anything and blasting thresher maws.

You mean I'm the only one who had a thresher maw pop up on me on every other planet? I must have been carrying something that smelled tasty with me. Bet it was Wrex.

I actually went LOOKING for Thresher Maws. If you could take them down on foot, you got boatloads of XP for it. :-)

The 2nd planet I went to on the PC version I got killed by one instantly, but when I played it on the 360 I didnt encounter a single one and totally forgot they were in the game.

Now, just find something for me to do with all that palladium.
Why is that every time I meet someone these days I have this sudden urge to ask them what they can tell about Cerberus?

I've been listening to this song for the last 3 days on repeat at work for the whole day. It plays quietly in the background, launching subliminal probes into my mind so that I don't want to do anything but play this game, but when I finally get home and pop in ME2 I just end up scanning planets for hours.
Really, is it necessary for me to have over 400,000 Iridium?

I don't mind the probing so much. It would be better if the upgrades didn't require huge amounts of minerals to implement. So you end up having to spend more time probing just to purchase an upgarde...plus, all the good ones seem require the same mineral.
I also can't stand the limited Ammo scheme. This is one area that was much better in ME1. Although I like having shorter cool down time for powers and don't mind having to reload, what bugs me is that most of the guns don't have a very large ammo capacity. I mean, I am Vanguard and my primary weapon is a shotgun, yet the shotgun (for a large portion of the game anyway) can old hold 15 "rounds". Playing on the higer difficulty levels, you can empty your entire supply of ammo into a single enemy and only put a dent into their health. After which I am back to the machine pistol, especially since it seems like not every enemy drops clips. Heck, even the heavy weapons have more ammo capacity than the shotgun (but the ammo is hard to find). Plus, why does it take so long to get the SMG?
Still, ME2 is the best space Sci-Fi RPG yet. (oh, and +1 to the above video for sampling music from the game).

Same for me!
The planets must die!!
I have a bad habit of getting into an audio book, but wanting to play ME2 too. It's criminal to waste the good mass effect story, so it's just about impossible to really do both. It always degrades into me listening to my book while I probe planets. I have far too little money and far too many resources. You'd think there'd be a market for these precious minerals, no? Something maybe to help recoup the costs of the mining? I mean, what the hell am I gonna do with 600,000 iridium?

Probing for minerals was by far the worst part of otherwise a fantastic game, even with the upgrades. They seriously need to drop that for ME3.

As an angry white boy in brooklyn who loves metal and is unfortunately surrounded by constant hip-hop and rap... I must say... These be the illest beats on the internet. Hands down.
Very well done.

Only thing that could make this song better... is Mordin rapping the lyrics.

Mordin singing was the single best moment in the entire game.
"I am the very model of a Salarian scientist..."
Absolutely brilliant and hilarious!
