The Nomad Soul started off absolutely amazingly, and then got boring when your character just became a generic nobody that no one knew.

But the beginning - when you've taken over the body of a police officer who's been missing for a while - is fantastic, as you interact with his wife, co-workers and boss, and try to uncover what happened to him.

Really engrossing, and really fun. I loved that the game outright acknowledges that you're not this character, just someone who's controlling his body.

But as soon as that part ended, I got bored and stopped playing.

Hmm, that weren't meant to be reply. Sorry.

(I also agree he should not be downvoted, and am also considering renting the game. I have no money.)

I did think the demo was amazing, just didn't see myself wanting to play through the experience more then once. Note my use of the word "experience", not game. A breathtaking experience ahead of it's time maybe, but then I'll know more about that after my non-commiting rent.

I hate to interrupt your 'save a downvote foundation' session guys. I could care less for those of you who get downvoted, I say take it like a man and move the hell on, but that's just the alcohol talking...so..moving on.

Although, some people might not have cash at hand; I just hope people who like it will buy it after the rent is up, and invest in a deserved quality game that will reward you with a (::) ... jk no cookie, but H.R does reward you with many great ways to play the game, even more than once. I'm just recommending it for those still on the fence about it and thinking of a rental instead of a buy. OK enough whoring myself. =/

Man, Heavy Rain will be pimper than thou. My friends and I are all going to directly defy David Cage by gathering around and playing together. Mostly because only one of us has a PS3....

Making a multiplayer title IS his own next thriller 'game'.

Nah, nah, I mean that making a different sort of game is thrilling for him, a 'game' unto itself (a challenge, if you will).

However, your idea is good, too. We/He should roll with it.

I have downvoted you because of you seem to like implying that Heavy Rain won't be a game by sticking it in quotations whenever you say it...

Good day to you.

lrn2interp: I mean, quote, the endeavor of making a multiplayer game unlike the games, including Heavy Rain, that he has done before, end quote, will be like a quote-game-end-quote for David Cage.

Heavy Rain, pretty fun demo and I gotta say I was really impressed with the fight scene. Wow that was intense.

But, not buying it. Will rent for sure but only got about $150 right now and I've already pre-ordered BC2 and FF13, and wanna pick up Soul Silver. GoW3 and Heavy Rain sadly have to wait, but should be fine since the first 3 I mentioned should keep me entertained for a really long time. No rush.

"Drama is easy,comedy is hard."

You're joking right? Drama really only works if viewers (whether it be in gaming, movies or in books) can sympathize with the characters and the situation they are in, and for that to happen a writer has to make them relatable to the average person, which is no simple task.

LOL. Comedy is one of the easiest forms of entertainment. I honestly can't believe you said that. Like Jason said, you have to really connect with the characters through any type of drama.

They are both hard. Making either that is universally appealing to the masses is nearly impossible.

Heavy Rain is a day one purchase for me. I try to support any game I can that breaks ground or does something spectacularly unique and daring.

I haven't played the initial two Quantic Dream games, they came in under my radar. I just hope Cage's apparent ability to push the standards and break the mold hold true for whatever project he moves on to.

Multiplayer anything would be my first choice. Everyone knows that despite the polish (MW), size (MAG, R2), abilities (Bioshock 2), or variations (BC2) the formula has grown a little stale.

Let that man out of his cage, let's see him shake some things up.

As somebody once said (Can't remember who it is, I think it was the director of Ghostbusters)

"Everybody says how hard comedy is, but, when it comes time to honor things, whether it's on a weekly critical basis or whether it's award time, at that time of the year, comedy is the poor, dumb child of dramatic work. "

Omikron is one of my personal favourites. It's David Cage's boldest work, a daring new universe, fantastic story, great art design and a blending of genres. It even begins by breaking the fourth wall in a non-retarded way.

I really hope we get to revisit that universe again.

I wrote a review on the Heavy Rain demo, feel free to check it out ^_^

http://www.anime-stadium.com/mikahcho/

Just scroll down a little.

As for the 'next challenge,' I'm excited to see what Cage does next. I got a tad scared, I thought he was going to resign........... Heavy Rain is the kinda game I've been dreaming of, and I can't wait to see how he can implement elements from that game int a different genre

I hope this doesn't mean a lot lighter storytelling from Quantic. Their games have been some of the few that attempted to get me to feel something and succeeded at it.

This article wins this week's award for most comment reply fails in a single article.

That being said, I can't wait to get my hands on this game/movie and experience it firsthand. I didn't download the demo because I didn't want to spoil the gameplay experience.
