Still looks better than the DOA movie.
God was that movie horrible.
I'm hoping Tekken is more like Mortal Kombat.
it's still technically bad but still enjoyable

I feel the need to clarify your statement:

The FIRST Mortal Kombat movie is somewhat enjoyable and entertaining (surprising considering when it was released).

The SECOND Mortal Kombat movie is literally a waste of your time should you watch it.

Tekken is the last fighting game that needs more story. The film? Maybe, but as far as fighting games go, I feel as if Tekken has one of the most richly developed storylines. It's pretty darn convoluted too.

It seems like it's Hollywood's obligation to make these really cheesy/bad looking live-action representations of video games.

This.

I don't know why they'd relegate Tekken to an underground fighting club. I was excited that the costumes were somewhat accurate but everything around the costumes and characters looks HORRIBLE.

To be fair though, Tekken itself is pretty cheesy. So it's not really that surprising the film turned out this way.

Then again I personally don't believe that a live action film of any fighting game, unless it's a parody, can be successfully made.

I wonder why they always select the game that have stories that are beyond confusing in the first place to turn into movies. Fighting games? This is just as dumb as a Tetris movie.

I take that back.

I highly doubt this movie will even approach the supreme awesome cheesiness of the original Street Fighter movie.

90% of movies are crap anyway, so we should relish the ones that are "so bad they're good".

And not to defend videogame movies, but every single one of them has been better than the first (Super Mario Brothers) which is easily one of the worst films I have ever seen.

I'll give them this much...the first time I saw The Protector (Tom Yum Goong), I instantly thought "If they ever make a movie he needs to be Eddie"

Lo and Behold, Lateef Crowder is Eddie Gordo. Didn't have to grow his hair out or anything lol

+ 1 point for Lateef
+ 1 point for accurate costumes that don't look TOO silly (only kind of)

Story be damned (the LEAST important thing in a Martial Arts movie is the story...), can they make an enjoyable martial arts movie? Casting people who can already use the fighting styles is making it seem plausible.

Yeah that's pretty cool. Lateef Crowder as Eddie. I went to high school with him back in the mid '90s. Pretty cool guy back then. Looks like he got his break into movies which is good for him!

I always thought fighting game designers had never have relationships with real, human women... and seeing the cheap reproductions of the costumes on the bemused looking actresses in those stills only reinforced that notion.

Nina's is actually the only one that's REALLY bad. The thing is, given how many outfits Nina has had they could've easily gotten her something a little less...tacky.

3) The same company is making a Castlevania movie.

Jin is the main character of this movie I assume based on the trailer ... yet he is the wimpiest and worst looking casting out of all the people for this movie. He's small and looks like shit ... Jin is jacked and up to par with everyone else in the games wtf ...
