I can't see myself going back to this game..

Played it, loved it, got rid of it. It wasn't something I could see myself ever wanting to play again, for some odd reason...

Glad it's getting some decent DLC though.

Kratos here,

I can't see myself ever playing God of War again. It's downright cold with nothing but this little skirt on.

I haven't really gone through it or even thought of going through it myself. The odd part is, I bought the last DLC, and still have yet to play it. Then again, I save a lot of my PS3 games for whenever my Xbox 360 decides to crap out on me, so I'll have AC2 and the DLC on my PS3 when that day comes. Still, I know what you're saying. The game was addicting to play for me, but... honestly, I can't get back into it.

I agree, I loved it but never saw my self wanting to play it again so I sold it.

I loved it and was totally willing to go back to it. Until the 1st DLC was an hour of gameplay and had no additional achievement. What a jip!

Decent DLC... na, from what I've read it's ok but nothing too special. I'd like to see some DLC with acheivements.

Something is only worth playing if it boosts your Gamerscore? I really didn't know anyone took it as seriously as that.

To each their own, to be sure, but it's my understanding that Achievements are an extra incentive... not a reason. That's just weird.

Yeah, but like Chris is alluding to, those with the game already need a bundled DLC pack..which I was hoping for too.

Basically.....and I don't remember Ubisoft doing a GotY edition of any recent games...like PoP....it got DLC but didn't get a GotY version......usually when games get those versions its cause its an ASSLOAD of DLC...Fallout 3 had an assload as did LBP.....

The same for me. I downloaded The Battle of Forli while I was playing Mass Effect 2, and have yet to go back and play it. And I'm not sure why - maybe because there's no achievements? I don't know. The original game had achievements for completing each DNA sequence, so why aren't there any for these two? It just looks like there are "holes" in the game that way going from 11 to 14, but the plug for those holes *IS* there.

I still don't know why they did that.

Well, I respectfully disagree with that. I would venture to say they would sell MORE of the DLC is they tied achievements to it. More and more I (and many of my friends are the same) make game purchase decisions based on how the achievements are done.

I think they're actually HURTING sales by not including them. Maybe not to a great extent - I don't know - but it has to be hurting.

Sorry for the offtopic comment, but is something wrong with the Joystiq Ultrafeed? It works when I visit it directly, but not when I use it as a live bookmark in Firefox or on my phone. Really odd.

For anyone that has played them, are the templar lairs worth it? For some reason, with Heavy Rain only a couple of days away, I'm having a hard time bringing myself to pick up this DLC, even though I absolutely loved AC2. It's weird, because I'm always excited about the prospect of DLC, until it actually comes out (same case with the Grand Theft Auto 4 DLC).

I dunno, but I felt gypped after I downloaded the damn bonfire DLC, only to find that there was a f*cking SEPARATE BONFIRE DLC with MORE CONTENT? WTF????

I really toyed with the idea of PAYING to download more of the same content only to get the extra areas. Honestly that was a dick move.

Sorry to go offtopic like that.

Looking forward to giving it a try. The first DLC was a bit disappointing on several levels:

- Disappointingly short (ok it was cheap, but I got myself all psyched up for it then it was gone so quickly)

- No achievements, which just seems ridiculous. Unless they have some other massive DLC coming that would use up their allocation of extra points, I don't see why they couldn't add some for this DLC. Doing anything on the 360 that doesn't have achievements seems unsatisfying. Even zero point achievements would have been something.

- The story being so completely unrelated to the main plot line. I know that this was intentional (i.e. they wanted the retail content to make sense without having to buy DLC), but I feel that they could have done something clever - like maybe having something that happens or is referenced to have happened in sequence 14 which is not critical to the plot but doesn't make much sense, then the backstory to that plot element could be covered in the DLC, so you'd get an "ahh, that's how that came to be" moment. Maybe some cool weapon that you have in seq 14 that you earn in 12/13.

Still, more AC is more AC. If they make it i'll buy it :)

Are those the same Templar lairs that came in the Gamestop pre-order or no?

as far as I remember the Black Edition shipped with only one Templar Map that didn't come with the GS CE. That was the shipyards.

Medici and Santa Maria shipped with pre-order CE versions.

Man, often when they release pre-order bonuses to the masses it's for free. I don't know if I want to spend an extra $3 for the lairs, but I probably will. I heard they aren't that great.

DAMNIT!!

I bought the item that Microsoft had in the spotlight this morning and they linked directly to the cheaper one without the bonus DLC.

Ubisoft - Please release the bonus content seperately!!! =(

wait for the people who bought black edition to start complaining about their not so exclusive content, i on the other hand enjoy the black edition statue infinitely more than 3 small lairs.

I paid for both the 560 and the 320 mainly because when I clicked the dashboard link it didn't give me the option to download 1 or the other. Shame Microsoft don't do refunds

They don't give refunds for dissatisfaction. Buying the more expensive version of the same thing is kinda different. Tweet them up @xboxsupport and see if they can help. No harm in asking.

Ruh roh.. the XBL pricing is as the article says, but the PSN prices are actually $4.99 and $9.99. That's a.. serious difference in value.

Dammit Joystiq, it cost $4.99 and $9.99 on PSN. I got excited for the cheaper price of the extra lairs and then it turned out to be $5 extra. Bought it anyway, so this really is that much cheaper on 360? Man, what a rip.

Just finished the main story portion, overall it's a way more satisfying experience than Battle of Forli. In terms of the story it was pretty bland, and after completing this and Battle of Forli it's really easy to see why Ubisoft decided it wasn't really necessary.

The memories though were varied enough to keep it interesting and even at times slightly difficult to figure out the best approach which was appreciated. All assassinations. None of this defend Sforza while you fight guards up front and mercilessly mash square garbage. It took about 2-3 hours, but that may because I haven't touched AC2 in a long time.

I've gone through 1 templar lair and I am not looking forward to going through the next 2. In fact, I probably won't. It was really straightforward and required very little thinking. It totally could have been a lair you'd find at the very beginning of the game given it's simplicity.

All in all though, it washed away the bad after taste that Battle of Forli left, but the extra 3 templar lairs probably aren't worth it. Save yourself 5 bucks and just get the main DLC.

Thanks for the quick mini-review. Doesn't sound like this "black edition" content is anything that showed up in the U.S., so it might not hurt to pick it up (then again, I haven't even finished the main game yet so no hurry there either).
